Our original design incorporated the use of a 87 Honda Internal lu solenoid to apply the transbrake. The sources for quality versions of this solenoid have not been able to supply us with any more solenoids. This has caused us to revise the housing and mount the solenoid on the side instead of the top. However the replacement solenoid is under $20.00 as compared to $115.00.The revised mounting location in the housing was redesigned and tested over the last 72 hours and is a working unit.We will have several available in the next week or so.With this change we can assure that in the event of a solenoid failure we will be able to have them on hand. With that said lets look at the pros and cons of the design in general.
PROS.

NO DEEP PAN REQUIRED.
Fits in place of the stock accumulator housing.
Applies the direct clutch only for brake function in manual lo only,so no accidental apply.
Apply is instant due to the reduction in path volume.
NO NEED TO SEND US YOUR VALVE BODY WORKS WITH A STOCK UNDRILLED ,UNMODIFED CASTING.
USES 4L60E SHIFT SOLENOID.
INCLUDES CUSTOM SEPERATOR PLATE.
INCLUDES CKPERFORMANCE CNC .555 BOOST VALVE.
ORIGINAL DESIGN IN USE FOR 7 YEARS AND A PROVEN PERFORMER.
MUCH LOWER COST THAN ANY ELECTRIC BRAKE ALTERNATIVES

CONS

NO LONGER APPLIES IN OD 3 OR 2

With that being said let me state that although marketing gimmicks claim 000 release on transbrake we all know this is simply not true.We have however optimized release making it function as best as we can with a pilot orifice circuit.Bleed hole in the drum is mandatory for quick dump. What we have done is reduce the hole in the drum and add 2 additional dumps elsewhere in the circuit for maximum performance.Im certain it will be a great addition to your turbo cars if you dont have one already.Anyone with the original design can send it in with the original receipt and I will cahnge it out to the new housing at no charge.

How much Chris? Does the shifter have to be in 1st to apply? From what I read it does.

Pricing will be better than any other alternatives except for the manual type.Ill make it affordable for everyone like I have done with the other stuff for the trans.Dont want to post pricing till next week..Yes shifter must be in lo for apply.

I'll wait on the price but once you shift into 1st can you shift out without loosing the lock?

Locks only with brake button held.

I spent too many hours porting some heads today Chris. I'm dense tonight. It has to be put in 1st and then push the button, but if you hold the button you can shift out to a higher gear?

placing the car in lo doesnt apply the transbrake.pushing the button and sending 12 volts to the solenoid applies the brake.

I think what Charlie is asking is if you have it in 1st , transbrake button on. Leaving the transbrake button on , but you shift it out of first , will the brake release?

or if you put it in first, hold the trans brake button, can you put it into drive while still holding the button so you dont have to do it as you go down the track?

toggling the switch in lo will apply the brake, only in lo.if you put the car in any gear but lo and toggle it wont apply

Let me try:

Chris;

Let's say I put the shifter in first, press the switch. OK the brake's applied.

WILL is stay applied if (while still holding the botton) I shift to another gear, or will it RELEASE??????

That sounds sweet! This might be in my future. One quick question, off subject what year early 700r4 filter can I use to go to bottom feeder? Thanks in advance, Mike.

The issue is that first gear goes by so fast I would miss the shift (unless I launch and shift simultaneously)

Having it activatable in Lo and 2 would be really cool.

Is there one wire or 2 to the solenoid (grounds thru case or with a wire)

Bob

thats my problem as well bob. i got a column shift car and for me to put it into first press a button realse the button and have the car shoot out of the hole like a cannon then try to get back up to the shifter would be hard as hell before i get to 6000rpms. now from what i just read.

if i applyed it in first, and continue to hold the botton, if i move the shifter out of first it will release even if i hold never let go of the botton?

the reason i ask it would be nice to put it into first, press and hold the button. then
move it into D while still holding the botton, so i dont have to shift it once i let go of the button. but this wont work correct?

Wont work, problem is you want the lo clutches on in manaual lo or risk scattering the lo overrun clutch on a tire shaker.

Chris , are all other transbrakes (for the most part) manual shift ? IE a brake for a TH350 or 400 ?

yes,i dont think any other 2004r electric designs apply in anything but low either.our older ones did but then it becomes a liability issue. It is easy enough to leave the low roller on for a second or 2 after the car leaves through checkball/orifice circuit in the bathtub but its liability.
