What are the advantages of a 2004r vs a th350 or th400 with a gearvenders over drive. What i have found since i bought a 2004r is that they are tempermental only 12 guys in the states can dial them in, mine was over priced at $4,000 for 800hp rating, if they do go behind 600-800hp they dont last long and you cant beat on them like a th 350-400, you shouldnt shift them at 7,000 rpm or higher, but they give you 200 less rpm at 65 mph than a th 350-400 with a gear venders od, and you can lock up the converter on the 2004r, does locking up the converter save gas milage vs a normal converter because it locks up or just because it spinns 200 less rpm,the other thing that is a hassele is the tv cable vs a full manual valve body th350-400 that you dont have to mess with a cable that also will shift crisper and harder, needless to say i am frusterated with my 2004r!

2004r

A $4000 200 should last, who built it?

Gearstar performance in akron ohio built it once after 1500 miles no 2nd gear built it again just got it back put it it same problem now i had a trans guy change out a servo for them nothing, now they are sending me a valve body, that i have to have my trans guy install, the best part is they are taking a weekand a half to send me a new vb,i would think they would build one and overnight it to me, but thats just me, it gets even better i paid $4000 and now they are selling the same thing for $8000 4 years later when you can get one from ck performance for $3500.I wish they were $8000 when i bought mine because i would have never bought one! FRUSTRATED is a understatement!

Lonnie Diers at Extreme Automatics...He's the best, stop screwing around with those guys.

My car and my last car both have/had Lonnie's tranny's...No issues what so ever.

If you get a good 200 you won't even think about doing a conversion at least until you are way faster than me.

Gee, the wifes GN is in the 11's on the spray and that trans was done back in 1988! Another one is bone stock original form 87 and we have two others in vintage Pontiac V-8 musclecars for many years now. The right builder makes all the difference.

Sadly, it sounds like you got hooked up with one of the goofballs.

200r4

I HAVE delt with CHRIS FROM CK PERFORMANCE FOR YEARS REALY GREAT GUY
and honest to boot

"i paid $4000 and now they are selling the same thing for $8000 4 years later".
I'll bet the reason for the slo shipping is, they are "swamped" w/ orders for thier $8K junk....
