Hello, guys i know this is probably off topic. But im thinking about buying a 05 ram daytona with the wing on the bed. The problem is they only made this model for one year 2005. These limited edition trucks are supposed to have a plaque on the dash just below the stereo stating the production # just like the GNX has but this one doesnt have one! any thougts!!! thanks!

Well it's very unlikely that anyone would clone one. So someone peeled the plaque. Couple things:

If you get the VIN, the local dodge dealer can tell you for sure if it is a daytona group, hell gimme the vin and I can do it.

They can probably re order the plaque. May not get the actual number, dunno for sure.

Unless you are buying a really low mileage example and plan to keep it that way, the plaque means virtually nothing. Buy it and drive it. Don't expect a 1/4 mile terror especially in a crew cab or 4wd application.

Thanks for the advice! I guess its no big deal but it is a killer looking truck so i'll just leave well enough alone! THANKS FOR THE INPUT GUYS YOUR THE BEST!!!!!!! WE2MAN

that big wing always struck me as a really good way to make the truck useless as a truck..

Well if it's the kind without the tonneau cover, the wing is attached with 2 10mm bolts under the bed rails and then it slides forward off 2 pins in the back that actually hold it from blowing off. Really easy removal. And the type with the hard cover I think the wing actually bolts to the cover. We had one at work about 6 months ago. It was an orange one and that color was freaking stunning! But not anything really special, mostly an appearance group, though they got louder exhaust and ours had a cold air kit.

I need a gn if you think you can tell anything about the vin# here it is 1d7ha18d35j638988 thanks!

I own a 2005 Daytona ram(Gomango orange).
Ok, it doesn't have the number plaque, does it have the wing, the "daytona" up the rear side of the bed. Does it have the ground effects(even on 4x4's), does it have the bolra exhaust that exits on pass. side, does it have the 20" wheels, does it have cloth interior, does it have whiteface gauges, does it---in the rear have inner fenderwell covers.

Send some pics if you want an opinion, but personally i have never found a truck (like this) colectible except the sy's and ty's.
