I have an 86 T type that the trans quit pulling all of the sudden. I can hear the pump whining when I start it. I figure the drum broke or something like that as it gave no problems before. I am getting it rebuilt by a well respected shop and would like to know what upgraded parts would be good to include in the rebuild. I want the Stage Right transbrake and the forward drum for sure. I am getting the Vigilante 9.5 5 disc lock up also. I am installing a turbonetics 62mm compressor, 62mm turbine, .63ar 3 bolt turbo along with a set of ATR headers with a 3" down pipe. I am getting either the 315 or 325 RJC front mount. I have forged pistons and a TTA crank and stock heads. I also have a Snow performance alcohol progressive injection system. I figure about 500-550 at the crank. I will run 275 60 drag radials with SSM control arms. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks

How much do you drag race? Do you really need a transbrake? If you go with the transbrake and intend to lock that Vigilante at WOT in 3rd you had better get billet everything in the trans along with a chromoly driveshaft and good u-joints as well as upgraded axles or you are gonna break something eventually. Everything in the stock 200 trans is kind of weak. There is a good thread on here about making the 200 stronger. You can spend 3 or 4 grand getting a 200 to stand up to high horsepower abuse. I have broken everything in my transmission at one time or another. I think I have more in my transmission than I do in my motor sometimes. You will need all the good hard parts internally along with a quality build to get a reliable transmission that can take the abuse. Lots of good information on this forum. Others will ask your ET goals and someone will mention your stock heads.

A 200-4R is not weak by any means. Can run into the 9's with a full weight car with only a re-shafted forward drum and proper calibration. The stage right Transbrake won't add much if any stress to the 200-4. I've installed about 100 of them and never seen parts failure because of one.
