I am going to a 3 day race over the long weekend.
Wondering what the best pressure is to run with a 275/60/15 on an 8in rim.
What are you guys having luck with?
I now have a higher stall and and a trans brake:wink:
The car hooks good at a WOT 5psi launch but then blows the tires off when full boost comes on about 15 feet later:mad:
The car has big rear bar adj uppers tubular lowers and pinion 2.5 deg down.

No two cars are the same. I would say trial and error. 15-18psi sounds pretty good but you will probably have to play with them alittle. What kind of shocks do you have in the back? Is your front swaybar disconnected?

rear shocks and cheapies to they will squat hard on the launch
front bar is connected but will be disconnected for the strip

15 psi. or so, make sure it doesn't wander at high mph on the big end.

I'd probably start at 17 and work my way downward.

What tires?

Start around 18psi and go down from there. I will see you there:biggrin:

Nittos so heat them up. :)

Drive around the water box, back to the edge of visible water residue and light them up!!!

Start around 17/18 psi.

At the end of the track check for any swaying of the rear which happens when the tires are too low in psi.

Luckily Nittos don't do that very often.

You'll probably end up around 14/15 psi. safely.

What Track?

brainerd for the coca cola muscle car shoot out

100 bucks gets you and a buddy in plus camping thurs night thru sunday
fri test and tune
sat test and tune
sunday race in super stock turbo class based on veh weight
HEADS UP BABY!!!!

I'll see you there as well ;)

I have the 275/50 Nittos on my stock 7" t wheels and run 30psi on the street. I'll probably just start with the car on street trim and work down since this is my first trip to BIR. You're easily gonna leave me at the line with your trans brake now. Maybe I'll make it up on the big end!

well set them to 18psi and did john force style burnouts
5psi hooked 10 didn't so i left the rest of the weekend at around 8ish psi

best 60ft was a 1.604

not bad for "crappy" nittos i guess:tongue:

I would buy some M/T drag radials they are the best on the market as far as frag radials and you dont have to do a john force burnout with them. I would also take of the front sway bar that will give it more weight transfer, but it sound like its running pretty good what times do you run.
