Just finished up my latest build for my freind. Dual fed, teflon rings, wide band all of CK's mods and shift kit with his new sep plate. Trans works well and no binding with the dual feed mod. However the 3-4 shift is not as firm as I would like it. It has the new spring and piston in the case piston 1st.

This a Monte carlo trans, valve body and governor. Can I firm up the 3-4? I had a Monte Carlo that shifted them same way once before this. It's in a Turbo buick now. The WOT shifts are 5500-5800,he wants then about 5200. I told him we would just reinstall the BRF governor and fix it.Thanks for help in advance.:)

Try adding a primary weight that is 3 grams heavier to the governor. Changing to the BR governor wont help the late upshift unless you change the vb and governor.

Stock 2 clutches on the 4 th clutch.

Bison, how do you add weight? I know you can grind it off. I am not wanting to give up nice virgin BRF valve body and gov to get his shift points down. Changing just the governor won't do anything at all.

firming up shift.remove 4th acc spring and piston.install 2 3/8" washers over the 4th acc piston pi,reinstall piston and spring.

Thanks Chris, what about the WOT issue. He would like BRF WOT shifts,He has a Monte SS gov and valve body with your kit,new plate etc.

The CZ will shift around 5400-5500. The BR around 5000-5100 depending on the converter.

Maybe the tach he's got is off...he's got a billet 9x11 3400 stall. Says it's almost 6k before it shifts.

Rich, how about the scanmaster, compared the tach to it.Jeff said it shifted right at 6k for him too,did he have a tach?

Bison can you explain why I would have to change the valve body and the gov to lower the shift points. And not just the gov.....my understanding is when governor pressure overrides line pressure it will shift. The TV valve is at max with ether the CZ or BRF valve body.

Yeah, Jeff had that Monster Tach in there. The Trans II is more realtime than the SM, but I'll check next time I drive it.
