I just bought a downpipe from Red a couple a days ago. Are you supposed to clamp the pipe and the cutout together or just leave em loose??

The instructions said leave em loose but won't you have an exhaust leak at that spot then???

i just left mine loose. the exhaust leak is very minimual.

You can go with the wide type clamp.
It doesn't dent the pipe like the U champs do
I use some never seize in the pipe so it comes apart easy

Here ya go.

I recommend you run this clamp. Without it, back pressure under boost can eventually cause it too blow off when you least expect it. I have seen it happen to many people, and have even had it happen to me.

i hear of people buying things from "red"...how do you get in touch with that color...cant seem to find an internet site or contact...if anyone could let me know that would be mighty "white" of you...thanks noah.

The one for 3" OD is the correct clamp to get as it forms a tight fit. Actually crush forms to the joint.
