"skinny frame".. sounds drastic. Mine is notched to the seam or the center then took a BFH to the tubs and made some room.

I am attempting "operation skinny frame" as we speak. We will see, should work without the spacer hopefully.

Me too, frame is cut and the factory tubs are out as well. I cut the frame right to the back side and am going to use 3/16" plate along with some tubing on the inside to give it strength. I should have pitures up in the next week or so.

I just tossed a 325 under my car to see how it would fit. It's extremely tight but might work, I think I'd rather try a 315 and get the taller tire.

I measured without using a rim and section width was 12.5", anybody have a real world measurement of them on a 10" rim?

here's a few pics to see how they fit, my car sits alot lower than those shown above.
last pic is hard to make out but it's behind and below trying to show the room between the notch and sidewall.

got em mounted up.. the lip will need a trimming once I get it to sit lower so it doesn't rub the edge of the tire. Or maybe grab some 295 or 315 radials. I've got about 3/4" to the frame at the sidewall.

I'm gonna mock up a 28-10.5 slick and 275 radial this weekend to see how they fit.

I think you need more backspace, to bring the tire more under the car.

I am using 5.5" backspace with a 1/2" spacer.

can't get a beadlock on the inside with anything over 4"bs, I've got maybe 3/8" of room between the lock and lower control arm bolt.

I believe if you notch to the weld in the frame that is 2".

I am doing a 1" notch with my current 15x10 4.5" B.S. and expect to have about a 1/2" of tire clearance to the frame. I am basing this off of my current figures of
295's with a 4.5 B.S. are 5.3" towards the frame.
325's with a 4.5 B.S. are 5.9" towards the frame.

Though not every tire is the exact size even if it says 325, with the aluminum drums and poly bushings I am hoping it won't move much while turning to rub if they are wider than the 12.8" section width 325 works out to be. And putting a 325 on a 10" rim will suck in the section width a tad more than the 295 I have on it now.

Banning, is your current 60ft time with your 325's MT's?

we are using a 15X10 with the 5.5 backspace with a spacer to  I don't like them sticking out up top :p

these 325's on a 10" rim measure 13.5" section

My 60' was with a 28x10.5 slick. I use the 325s as my street tires and have only raced with the a couple of times. Without trying had I'm able to cut low 1.5x times off the footbrake (about 8# boost).

Ya, that's my other concern with these 325's, a 13.5" section width is really a 345 tire and not every manufacturer is the same size though they state them as being 325's.

1.5's on an 8lb foot brake is great.

did some research and the 325's really work their best on a 12" wheel because it makes the contact patch flat. On the 10" wheel I can see how the edges round, the 275 on the 10" has a nice flat contact patch and less sidewall buldge-- doesnt looks like too big of a tire on a narrow rim.

and the 275 fits alot better

Damn I wasn't aware you could even get a 15X10 rim with a 5.5 b.s. on there with a spacer. I am guessing with the spacer you have 1/2 inch clearance...??????

I am using 7/32's with mine, same backspacing. Seems to work pretty good.
