4L80 core prices, questions..

What are the differences between the different year cores?

What is a core going for?

What updates would you do the internals?

Best stand alone controller?

Anybody used one?

Converter selections?
Obviously I would want to retain lockup.

Are high $$$$.

Core prices i've seen are 800 and up!

I can get early cores for $550, and later ones for $675 here. I can prolly shop around and find even cheaper...

Been looking at controllers... Damn,, I thought someone had them for ~$500, but they are all almost $1000...

What about a control module off a deisel pickup with a 4L80E. I've heard they are stand alone units.
