wow ,great story,that thing is amazing,300 ton crank!!!
It's kind of lacking in horse power tho, It's 1/50th of the torque output.It would be like a car making 500 ftlb torque but only 10 hp,needs a roller cam + some better springs,for a little more rpm,maybe 112 rpm or so,get some top end out of it.

Ps,I'd go with a 12 foot,40 rpm lock-up converter,get it right in it's powerband.

I had a call not to long ago. I'm close to a large military base that also does a lot of work for NASA. Got a call from the base needing a torque converter for an application that made several hundred thousand foot lb's of torque. But that's all the info I could get. When I asked for dimensions...classified, when I asked about the application......classified, rpm range...classified. I told them they were either going to grant someone in the converter biz some security clearance or they were on their own to develop something. It's not easy building a converter for an application you know but it's impossible building it for something you have no data or size dimensions to work with.
