Iam running 50lb injectors and now run a ta49 , are the injectors to big for this set up. I need to run in the 39-41 psi range to get the o2s in the 780-790. It seems that my car is always running rich and back firing out the exhaust at any thing over 41 psi with the vac off. Does 39-41psi with the vac off sound right or low for 23psi of boost.

I have a TE-44 and I just put a set of 50s in with a Caspers chip, and 42# pressure, car idles great and best of all it really rips. It almost seems as though the 50s was the missing ingredient.

ACK!!! I don't know where to begin...? I read your sig line, and you've got enough go-fast parts to be well into the 11's, yet you're running slower ET's than most stockers on the street! What gives?
Per the symptoms you described, it sounds like a few possibilities. 1.) You don't have the right chip! I saw what you listed, but, did you actually bother to get a chip designed for your new 50# injectors, or are you using what you had before? If the latter, then "bingo", problem solved, get a 50# chip!
2.) Is your coilpack functioning correctly? How old/miles, etc on it?
3.) Is your ignition module functioning correctly? Same as above?
4.) Does your FP gauge read correctly? Are you sure...?

Sorry, I was not trying to slam you above, but, it sounds like you've got many issues to address, and this current problem may just be one in the long list. The 50# injectors should enhance your setup tremendously, if everything else is in place. I'm still leaning towards you having a chip issue...

jtoups386,I thought the same thing but didn't know how to pit it as delicately as you did.As a matter of fact I did just replace my coilpack and ignition modulewith 52k on it. The car pulled hard to 17# then layed down, changed the coilpack assembly, and it pulls very hard all the way to 21# funny thing is I did not think I had a ignition problem until I changed the injectors!

I am glad iam not the only one that thinks that. I run the stock 84-85 coil pack still and i tried my brother and it ran about the same so i guess its ok. I have new valve springs, and new about every thing. Your right about the chips, i had a JL chip and changed to a quadair chip and it ran alot better but it was not made for my set up. My maf was reading 140-180 on the 13.0 @110 pass , and i have a short in my dash , it will make my voltage light stay on, but the batt never dies and the alt charges. When i had my ta54 on the car at first it pull like it was un real for about 2 days then it was gone just like that.

I dont get it, do you think now that i have some money it would be worth changing to a 86-87 coil and module,

thanks , i need all the help i can get.

Sorry to be off topic, but I saw yo had the powerstroke IC and was wondering what you did about your high beams?

i still have them, i just cut the side of the housing some and it fit ok, so i can still use them if needed.

mine might be to, but they are there, no pictures of the lights sorry bud:D

I forgot that 13.06@110 was with a tci 1800 stall , 2.3? 60" was not helping, that was with bf drag and the tires were not spinning:D it was a very slow take off.

i have a kenne bell 2500-3000 stall now that i think will help when i fix my bad missing problem.

89 in the 1/8 is good for a low 12, high 11 pass, generally.

Are you also saying that you tried replacing the coil pack/ignition module, and saw no differences? Did you try replacing both, or just the coil?
And, are you also saying that your QuadAir chips are actually specific for 50# injectors, on an 84/85 ECM setup?

And why would you have ever had an 1800 stall? That's the stall speed for a stock 3rd Gen F-body, and certainly never belonged in a TR tranny.
You mentioned you now have a 2500-3000? Well, which one is it? A 2500, or a 3000? It's not both...
Per all the pieces you have, I would say that even a 3000 is going to be close to its limits. I think I would go higher, if you have the option to do so, in order to get that thing moving with the large FM IC and the bigger turbo.

I tried another coil and module 84-85 and it ran the same, the chip is for 50lb injectors and i do run a 87 ecm and maf. I have a new kenne bell stall , it says it stalls to 2500 at 0 boost and 3000 at 10 psi boost. Maybe it will run better with the stall now since i had almost a 2.4 60' with the old 1800 stall. I also run the cr43ts plugs , should i find the 42ts plugs and would it help.

Iam going to try a 86-87 coil and module and another 87 ecm to make sure one of them is not bad.
