My car is basically stock with the exception of 3" DP, RJC 3" exhaust, Walbro pump, Hotwire, and adj. fp regulator. In the next year I am going to build a 10 second motor. However, in the mean time I need to replace my stock injectors. I am trying to keep from buying twice. I know in order to run the 80's it will require a double pumper setup. I am going to run alky either way I decide. My question is: I know 60's will run the number with alky, but will they be about maxed out? Also, should I just go with 80's and be done with it? Is there any difference on the drivablility between the two? I talked to eric at TT, but I figured I would ask some of yalls opinion also that has run these injectors. Thanks for the help....

I'd be interested in hearing what Eric said........

If your car isn't making the power to require a double pumper, then the size of injector doesn't matter. The double pumper recommendation for 80's is based on having a combo that requires 80lbs injectors. 80lbs injectors can supply more fuel than a single pump can supply the injectors. Maxed out 60's will use more than a single Walbro 340. If the car isn't making high 10 sec power, than a single pump is fine.

Were planning on building a mid 10 second motor. Thats what im asking. Will a mid 10 second car require more than 60# injectors with a single pump and alky?

No, and its not close either.

I have two chips from Eric, Street and Strip.

Mine's been 10.53 on 60lb'ers and a single Reds on a warm Phoenix night.

Haven't pushed it past that yet. The strip won't let me, it's a street car with no roll bar.

There you have it.

It drives like a Buick, all....day.....long....if you know what I mean.

When I stand on it........ LOOK OUT!... With either chip!

Basically said that 60's will run mid 10's with dual nozzle alky. If not running alky then to run the 80's. Also, said that the 80's idle almost as good as the 60's. He said he normally bumps the idle up a bit.

Which im not questioning what he says, but just wondering what the difference if any is in the drivability of the two.

when i was dynoing my car at around the 380 wheel HP mark. i had 57 lbs injectors and they went static to the point where i could not adjust the fueling to a fatter AFR... this is with known good fuel pressure during all the runs. i had to switch out to bigger injectors... just my personal experience

I edited above my reponse, if you are interested.

I would like to run E85 when I do my build, but theres not many places around here that supply it.

Im going with the 60's, but just out of curiousity was wanting to here from the people running the 80's on how they idled and ran.

ok e85 is the way to go..some cities dont have e85 and around my house they have at LEAST 4 Ugas in a 5 miles radius that have E85 Ethanol at the pump??

E-85 will be a 9 to 12 hundred dollar upgrade when all is said and done, then you can start to build the motor to match the fuel.... more $'s....many, many more $'s....

Good luck!

Bison knows his s**t.

Listen to him from this point if you want to go E-85.

Im NOT going to run E85. Was saying it would be nice to be able to run it, but down here its just not available....

listen man e85 is the way to go period. your not going to spend 900$..guess what the dam alky kit runs 600 dollars alone! you dont need any internal modifications done to engine to run e85 other than injectors double walbro's and a chip. you can even throw away the intercooler and run str8 into upipe from turbo also you can run stock lines.. it will run safer than anything because when running ethanol you will not detonate.

And there you have it!

Good luck with the build, I'm glad I had an expert build mine.

No brains, no headaches!
