Your's are great questions.

NEVER feel bad about asking a question in here.

Oh, and don't listen to me, I'm a rookie and had someone else build my car.

But I did learn a BUNCH from him.......

hey guess what im 24yrs old and i'll post my build ..stock build with ported heads on e85 and i'll run 10's in 2 months or less and im no pro at building any engines its nuts and bolts and torque specs not building a space shuttle my motto is if you cant get dirty dont own a buick get a toyota aint no fun driving something you dont build yourself?.. hey but thats my opinion... hey some ppl rather pay i dont hate you for it..but it doesnt cost a whole lot if you do the mods yourself...and you learn something and it gets easier and easier after the first couple headaches and meltdowns

And there you have it!

Good luck with the build, I'm glad I had an expert build mine.

No brains, no headaches!

Its going to be a while before we build it. My brother has been into these cars for a long time. Im just getting into them and am just trying to pick up stuff along the way. Like I said, just trying to keep from buying twice. I more or less got the info I was looking for...Thanks again for the help:cool:

87chriss,

Some of us have so damn many things going on that it necessitates having others, particularly those who are more skilled and competent in finishing what we are too busy to and/or are not educated enough in that particular venue, to finish.

I’m 52, and I have done more than my share of building fast cars, I’ve also paid my dues, thank you.

What comes with age, knowledge and earning power is this :

I have a big enough support system to not only get my own stuff built, but I also help those I know get their stuff built, too.

Thanks for the advice, though.

Oh yeah.........I've already been 10's, DEEP 10's, thanks, on a single alky nozzle.

"aint no fun driving something you dont build yourself".... I beg to differ....

Don't hate the player.........Wanna race?

I've done the large injector upgrade with stock ECM. Was a real pain in the arse! There's a code in all factory ECM's no matter how's it modified, you'll go lean at over 100mph. I had the custom (Reds) modified factory ECM an a custom chip with translator-plus on alky. I'm now with same "72pph injectors" an F.A.S.T ECU,only using an XP R1 intank pump hot wired (it has a full 60psi fuel pressure through throttle range),Low 10's high 9's are on tap, easy !

Enjoy!

i would love to take you on that offer... if your ever around Florida let me know will see if your 109 stroker can hang with my home built 109 stocker

Sounds good, my friend!

Meanwhile, best of luck to you and Westriver87!

My duty cycles with 60s, single walbro 340, and alky are at about 80% on 125 MPG runs. Base FP is at 40lbs. I have thought about doing E85, but not sure it is worth the effort right now. I am happy with 93 and alky for now.

Single walbro, 60# injectors, dual nozzle alky kit, 10.40 @ 132 mph. INJ duty cycle was 106% around 6200 rpm. Dont let the duty cycle scare you, as alky is making up for around 15-20% of the fuel going into the motor.

Maybe i'm reading this wrong...are you saying that a modded stock ECM for e85 and say120's wont be do-able cause it will go lean? I sure thought Eric's ECM mod was working well for many racers going well over 100MPH.

80lb injectors here. Single pump. Idles just like my 60's did. Zero issues. Get the 80's. There is no difference in drivabilty. You have a injector to grow into.

when i was dynoing my car at around the 380 wheel HP mark. i had 57 lbs injectors and they went static to the point where i could not adjust the fueling to a fatter AFR... this is with known good fuel pressure during all the runs. i had to switch out to bigger injectors... just my personal experience
So you were using over 600hp power worth of fuel to get 380whp? You have something wrong there. You werent static. Not even close.

I don't know Eric or used anything he sells. All's i'm saying is it's wiser to go Aftermarket ECU over trying to re-vamp a stock ECM an Chips to get the best Performance out of a combination.( i went from 50's to 60's with custom chip, to 72's, all with stock mod ECM an custom chip-93/alky.All those equaled a total rebuild after the first pass,1/8 mile-just over 100mph fell on it's face,an the Last time, burnt valve in GN1 head straight off the dyno from KDK's in Florida an to the track, it made 636hp at the motor, best pass 11.4@113 with 1.8 short, street tire full exuast-stock 109.....Now, i make that at the rear's an Car Pulls Constantly well over 150mph after going aftermarket ECU) The Bonus is if later you add more idem's, One dyno trip/track night with a lap-top,an your all fine tuned for "your" combination again in real world, not someone's guessing tune. your motor will thank you an last longer...

they make big injectors that can be driven by the stock drivers in the ecm now.. the only change needed is calibration.

This is the answer to the other part of my question. However, I just went with the 60's. It will be sufficient for the power im wanting to make with alky....Thanks for the help everyone
