Howdy,

How much am I looking at for a TH200-4R that will survive probably a dozen strip runs a year at a max of 600hp but largely be driven on the street at only 450hp. This is a set up for a 4000lb 65 Riviera so I know weight has a large part in determining the durability of such a tranny. I'm taking a guess at about $1600 with lockup converter. This car is mainly street so if I have to sacrifice one for the other street gets the priorities here.

Thanks,

It will cost $1600+ in just parts.

$400 for a billet forward drum,
$300 input shaft
$100 servo
$300-400 in basic rebuild stuff
$50-600 for a core depending in what you want to start with
$500+ for a converter closer to $800 usually

$1600 will get you a good TH400 and converter.

CTX-SLPR,
I sent you mail on some tranny info before, and never heard back from you. But, I can help you out in this department.
$1600 is a little low with a converter. Depends on the model core you use. Also, a lock up converter may be hard on parts in a car that heavy. I have a BRF trans in the for sale section that will do all you are looking for here, and more. Shoot me an e-mail and I can answer any other questions...
Thanks, Brian

My whole tranny setup cost me $2700 with a 9.5" vigilante tranny was done by dynotech and i know they have their trannies going into the 9's with no problem. I am extremely happy with my trans the car feels great with this tranny in it.
