I've been running the GT6131E non-BB for 5 or so years...was one of the first ones Presion prototyped. I tested it along with several other turbos and loved it, got to keep it for testing the others. Anyway, with a 9x11 lu 3k stall it works beautifully. Times in sig and thats with stock original cam and untouched heads and foot brake. The BB version should scream with that convertor, a 2600 I think would work very well without blowing the tires off all the time especially on the street.

Last year there was a board member at a Buick event at NED that was running low 11s on a stock engine. Later in the season he added some ported heads. He got a high 10s with it but popped the head gaskets. Haven't seen him since.

is you referring to my car

It's more in the 210-212 range.

If so Dusty how can I build more boost Chad told me that my converter was to tight I would like to have it set on about 25or26lbs and be able to leave on about 10or12 I changed the brakes before I came to the track SAT. and still can only get 4-5 out of it off the line please get back with me because there's some money to be made on the street. oh yeah if it is my car my cam is a 218-212 roller:cool::cool::cool:

j-6 can you give us full info on your setup and if you have any full quarter pass time slip break downs.

Thanks Brandon!

set-up

109 block with girdle,40over,218-212 comp roller, 4inch mass air with translator,6152e turbo, 350 turbo trans with 2800 stall, 3.5 inch single shot exhaust, ported heads, homemade doublepumper,Gn1 frontmount intercooler, thats pretty much it im still running stock throttle body, Ive never made a 1/4 pass all the tracks down here are1/8 but my 60ft was averaging 1.75 to 1.84 I made four passes if I ever get building more boost resolved I thinking 6.80 or at least 6.90 through the 1/8

Transbrake or another converter. I guess your e-brake wasn't holding because it should easily leave on 10-12#. If it won't hold it with new brakes, there got to be some other issue with the brake system.

If you loosen the converter it's gonna effect it up top. The only way to keep it running out the back and leave harder is to put a 9.5 non lock in it, you can leave on 4-5# and 60ft better.

If it was you and you seen how my car left last week what would you do or would you do both .

When you say you can't build the 10lbs of boost your looking for do you mean you start to push forward or the boost just sits at 5lbs?

It looked like a brake issue to me. The car would try to twist like one side of the brakes was holding and the other wasn't. It didn't leave straight like the rear brakes were holding equally. Maybe one side is set tighter than the other???

I'd do a transbrake anyway. Once you leave off a brake, you'll never want to footbrake again;) With the power your making, you'll need some Moser axles real soon.

Fwiw i switched out the old AC 9" that was in my blue car with the 9.5" PTC out of my fast car and picked up a consistent 3.5psi with no other changes. Both converters are at about 2900 rpm at zero boost/vacuum. Flash stall on the AC was over 5000@19psi. With the PTC its 4600@22.5psi. Cruise slip is about 15% less. Huge difference and ill pick up on both ends with this swap. The car has an old journal TE44 and will run easy 11.40's@ 22psi with lazy foot braked 60' times. It spools in under .75 seconds with a chip tune. With an xfi ill bet i could shave off another .25sec. I will try cranking it up when i run it. 10's shouldnt be a problem off the t-brake and about 25psi. This car is a lot of fun on the street.

Wow 10's with a Te44 that would be impressive.

I am glad that you like your new converter.
Dusty's stuff is one of the best investments you can make
in these cars performance wise.
