All the hype of the new garret wheels I have a question for the turbonetics rep. I have an old stage 4 60-1 and was wondering if the new 61mm wheel is an option when I have it rebuilt? Haven't heard of anyone using a turbonetics 61mm wheel which is why I ask. Anyone know any specifics?

Thanx

I am sure that would work, but you should just call Turbonetics and ask.

The T61 wheel is an awsome high flowing wheel. You will need to upgrade the turbine wheel as well to see the potential of the 61. I carry the 61 turbos, usually in stock.

TE-62

What about on a TE-62? I know I'm going to have to replace the compressor wheel, but would it be worth while to go with something slightly better than what came on it (60-1 isn't it?)

Jack I will be contacting you soon. I was the one who sent up the turbo to you that looked like the u.s.p.s. drug it up the mass pike!!!!!!!

The 60-1 compressor wheel is still a pretty darn good wheel. Guys have gotten into the 10s with the TE62.

Yeah, I know, but I figure since I'm replacing the wheel anyway. Why not go with the best possible?

we have to remember the importance of matching up both compressor wheel and turbine wheel, just upgrading one wheel and not the other may not be the ideal combo.

Match

The T61 wouldn't be a good match for the TE-62 turbine? That's the largest small-shaft turbine isn't it?

There are 3 different turbine wheels you could have, stage 3,5 or P trim.

Turbine

Oh, I thought it was the P trim. I sent you a PM... (don't want to hijack the thread)

TE-62

Yeah, I doubt he remembers it though. :)

I sent a PM, but he might not want me bothering him about it. I need to find out what type wheel it is so I get the right housing.

My measurements are: Major (2.90-2.92") Exducer (2.51-2.58") and about 1.2" tall. It was hard to measure more accurately since it's not perfectly symetrical.
