a black GN, next to a highland green mustang next to a black charger? Sounds like the making of a mint oreo

I think he posted pics from various stages of assembly. As far as the engine color is concerned, it's one of the variants of Hemi orange. My car looks red in the shade and orange in the daylight too.

Since when is the 383 a rare motor? It's a good motor, lots of spin to it, but it's not rare. The Magnum H code is 345 hp?

The 383 would be 335 HP and they definately are not "rare" in the charger world. My mom drove us around in a 383 4 speed '68 charger back before SUV's existed.

This is one of the reasons I don't consider a Charger a "muscle car". If my mom could take me to school in one, I wasn't going to get caught dead driving one.

I sold all my mopars to people who were paying full sentimental value for them. They are worth more if you are going to park it and look at it than if you have to drive it. I hated driving everyone I owned. Give me any AMC or Coil sprung GM over a buck board sprung, numb steering, weak unibody, rust magnet mopar.

You missed out on my friend's 68 Charger. Sold it last year. Had a funny looking motor with the spark plugs in the valve covers. LOL:D

It was an original Hemi car with column shifted automatic. Fresh paint, red lines with TT2 wheels. Went for 70K! He ended up buying a Plymouth Prowler. Prowler is a nice car but only has a
V-6;)

At a local car show, there was a light metallic blue 69 charger with 4 round headlights, not the hidden ones. 1 of 500 it said, owned by a local dealer. Im not sure if it was real since the headlights were different. Nice car though.

What an odd thing to do...

To me, Prowler = "pseudo hot-rod". Something just not right about them. Too "corporate", I suppose.

That was a Charger "500". that was Dodge's first attempt to answer the ford talladega and mercury version for nascar (just before the infamous Daytona was unleashed. they are indeed very rare cars in 69. the model was extended into 1970 and I think 71 as just a trim level an a regular charger.

Actually I was thinking more along the lines of a scene from Bullit.

The 70 Charger 500 was just a trim package. The 69 was the only 500 that meant something. Then they went to the Daytona.
