Well we just pulled a Turbonetics 72BB from a stock block car and installed a PT70GTQ. We were running the 72 at 30psi and it had made 516 RWHP tuned as good as we could get it. This is a Champion headed car with a small hyd roller. We installed the GTQ, turned the boost down to the TSM required 24psi! and the car responded with a LEAN 558 RWHP made another pull at 24psi after some tuning and topped out at 573 RWHP ( I cant remember the torque figures). The owner didnt want to lean on it as he said he'd rather save it for BG. Kind of an impressive gain if you ask me and I suspect we could have made 600 or close at that boost with a little more tuning!

Yes Russ it was. Harry told us to expect around 100hp at the same boost level, I personally think we'll exceed that.

i hear ya Russ. sounds almost to good to be true. so in theory i should trow my p-trim 70 away and go faster with a 67 gtq?????

I'm not trying to start a big mud slinging contest, just posted some stuff I thought was interesting. This is what worked on this particular car, here we go..... "as tb.com turns"

Swap the .85 exhaust housing onto the 72 and try again. Pretty cool stuff! Wish I was there to help. I also know the PTE Q wheel is bigger than T-netics Q, but I would like to see the differance in the just housings. I bought an .85 PTE housing to do my own testing later on at the track.

The exh. is definately where it is at Russ. I agree after comparing the turbos side by side, the PTE exh hsg would make a difference on its own.

no smud here! i'd rather have a newer technology turbo that spools better and makes more power. my turbo is a dinosaur.

That funny.I loved that.GREAT INFO THANKS BILL

hey Billy, was it a 3 bolt or 4 bolt exh housing? That 71GTQ I got off of you definately makes more jam then my BB72 (both with 4bolt housing). I don't have any hard data but my a s s dyno at 24psi with race fuel had me giddy. Looking forward to meeting up with you in GB.

How wouold I make this turbo into one of the badboys you are talking about ..

here is mine...

It is a PT 70 with the new 4" inlet and 3" outlet GT compressor housing. It has the Precision .63 turbine housing with the P-Trim exhaust wheel. It's a 3 bolt

Contact PTE or Limit Engineering.

definitely no lower than a 3600 rpm stall...the 70 GTQ turbo is a sweet turbo!

How much do these turbo's run (PT70gtQ/3-bolt)?

What are the minimum requirements to run this turbo (injectors, heads, stall, etc.)? This thing sounds like a beast!
