78 turbo sport coupe ?

my brother has a 78 turbo sport coupe,which is apart with leaking valvecovers,and spark plug wire issues.Easy fixes so far,he want s to elimnate all the egr,and misc air pump stuff etc...is this possible also there are some lines and stuff that just make a mess would like to clean up.So what emission stuff can go on the shelf and what can't....Someone teed a bunch of stuff in

Well since your closer to my area, then there shouldn't be any big laws on removing that crap. Mine is a MI car, so it never came with any of it. I did remove the cat though. You can buy those wire sleeves at AZ or where ever, I use them all over and it looks nice. Also painting the valve covers, intake, motor... really makes it pop.

I was just thinking of making two plates for the egr holes.Alot of the stuff on his car i just don't know if can take off and if so what.it has hobbist plates on it ,cat is gone and there is no emission test here so.He wants to pull whatever can off.

The EGR can be blocked off, mine will be... I made block plates too. Smog pump can go, engine fan can be replaced with an electric one(more power)... like I say "if it don't need to be there, remove it":biggrin:

okay well we started pulling stuff now few questions,there is a valve front passenger side(i think it is efe egr switch) gone right or wrong.Also there is thies pec vlv can that be gone also.I am looking at i think only having the tube form pcv and gate anddistributor,andair cleaner and canister thats it. or is there some that crap i need to leave.....


do not need intake we actually have 4 intakes 2 78's and 2 79s along with a complete 78 shortblock,and a complete 79 motor...
