Next to my Grand Nationals and TTA's I LOVED the 79 Tenth Anniversary Trans AM's. Anybody besides Rob have one:confused:

I had a 71 455 HO and it was a beast too but I loved the 79 TATA:D

I had 3 when i was 20 ish. 2 autos and 1 4 speed

I had one repainted and installed the daytona 500 decals on the doors and rear 1/4.. surely ive got pics of it somewhere.

Lemme take a pic this is for sale.. original paint too, has a few blems but from a low mileage car.

Make me a offer!

Sold my lucerne blue on blue 70 1/2 ta for nothing and been kicking myself in theass since!

DAMN thats cheap:eek: But the next one will be a 4 speed:cool:

The mailman up the street from me has one with less that 500 miles on it  . I have pics on my work computer.

I had a few, including a 71 HO.....in the rear window of my Big Block Chevelle SS.

ROFLOAM...

Kidding aside, I love the TAs and actually have a 'Bandit' on my short list of cars I NEED to get. Rob has a super nice set of TAs and formula (think one or two) that I was lucky enough to see in person a few months back. Nice guy too. I've got a spare LSx 408 stroker (600hp NA baby) just begging for a chassis. Already have my mind made up to go 'carb' for some semi-old school charm.

Anyway, I am surprised I don't see more TA/formula owners with GNs

I got one for free with a blown motor and bad trans. It was an automatic. Drained the oil pan and nothing but water came out. Sold it to guy who wanted it for parts to restore his. It had disc brakes and posi with an interior that looked like animals have been living in it.....he also seemed to be a little to excited when I told him 500 for the car.

technically I have 3 but have owned 4 of them
i still have was my fist 10th 4spd car , now with 42k miles on it
picked up another 4spd car in early 90s and sold it
then picked up two 403 TATA's , one riuns and could be restored , the other is down to a rolling shell with bad rust floors but it has a good title and i cant see scrapping it .

my macho is going to a new home soon so Im down to only 19 tas

Lucky Man:D Wanna sell a 4 speed;)

as much as i liked the Y85 TATA 4spd , the silver on silver with so many of them still around and all the same just doesnt have the same feeling , the ones i like the most are the Y88 (gold SE) 4spd's , yeah i got two of them :) and then the 81 nascar pacecar (recaro TA) , even though its slow it just looks so cool ,
but since going over to the dark side its hard to get into 15 second rides that get 12-13 MPG

I have what used to be a TATA 403 auto. Now it's blue with a healthy chevy 350. Gonna be up for sale soon. Extremely rust free car. Too bad the previous owner scrapped the olds motor. Oh well.. still a cool car with the magic ingredient: rust free!

Everybody likes pictures so here goes:

My baby is a black 79 400 4spd WS6. Also extremely extremely rust free and low mileage all original too. It's in the middle of a paint job though. Hope to have it finished spring '08.

The only real TAs are the ones with a Pontiac V-8 and a 4 speed. The 403 cars are like putting a SBC in a TR! I had a 76 TA with the 455/4 speed when I was a senoir in HS. 215HP! Its okay. I can laugh at myself too. I wanted a 79 when I heard that was going to be the last year. Plus the WS6 option was standard with the 400/4 speed. I couldn't swing the deal back in 79. I had just bought a brand new 78 ElCamino the year before and no one wanted to give me a break even deal on the trade. IIRC the TA listed at $8500. I think I paid $6000 for the ElCamino. I do remember a 79 anniversary sat on the showroom of the local Pontiac dealer for a long time. Ah the disco years. People would think you're crazy today if you built a car with a silver interior. Pure Americana.

I have a few second gen TA's. I had a 79 TATA with a 400/4 spd.
I just had to put all the Pace Car decals on. Here is a 78 TA I currently have.
