registry example This is kind of basic, but???

Looks great! On the '82 GN Registry, I included VIN's and sorted on the sequence number. Most people are OK with having VIN's listed, but a few do get worried.

The thing about having any numbers associated with the cars (like that first column) is that poeple try to put significance behind it - "I have number 1 of all registerted Hot Air's". It's weird, but I see cars for sale on ebay that brag about being registered. Sometimes they will count the cars listed and assume that all are accounted for. "1 of only XXX registered" or worse "1 of only XXX known to exist". I had to put in a paragraph in big red letters stating that being registered doesn't have that much value.

If you add a comments column, people can put in interests, buick clubs, ¼ mile times :) or even 86/87 IC conversions :( . You may want to consider listing production figures on the page as well.

Listing VIN numbers could be too much information, however, I havn't seen how it could be used by thieves, but where there is a will...

And me as well.....Ive never seen a hotair in California besides mine...tho I do know they exist.

I'm practically around the corner from you. I'm living in Vegas for the next 6 months but I go back to Bakersfield all the time and I'll be living there again soon.

Add me to the list. Las Vegas for now, I guess. 1 84 hotair GN.

My dad also has a low mileage mint condition 84 in Bakersfield. It's converted to a stage II setup but it started life as a hotair. While we're at it, I have a friend with an 84 GN and an 84 T-type in Bakersfield and there are two 84s for sale locally. Also one that's pretty much totaled out and one in decent shape at a junkyard for the past 7 years. Now that I think of it, there was an 85 T-type that I bought for a parts car and is now a circle track car. There's also an 84 GN I happened to see on the back of a flatbed truck on it's way to the yard. It was mostly burned up but I got a few good parts from it. I'm done rambling now.

A name, hometown and phone book will get a thief to a car much easier than a VIN.

Right now everything is manually entered into a spreadsheet. If anyone would like to be added to the list just email me your information. Put "hot air registry" in the subject line. Tech articles that already exist can be linked and new items can be added to the site as well. Send me suggestions, I am planning on linking to the tech articles/recipes on gnttype.org. email As far as VINs go, I think they are relavent but may not need to be listed. Or maybe it would be best to use the last five digits of the VIN. I am sure there will be some minor details I will need to work out as we go along.

Thanks for your input Rich. I will talk to you some more at Casper's.;)
