i was given the opportunity to purchase a 21,000 mile 87 monte ss hardtop burgundy with a burgundy bucket seat interior. i was told original everything including tires always garaged,no dents ,no dings, nice original paint

i don't want the car i just want to flip it.

what could i sell this car for fast!!!!!

i just sold a 88 monte carlo ss with 46,000 miles, black with gold stripes and tan interior for $7500.00,the black and gold and white and gold are hard to find

I think the days of flipping cars is over. If you can get that car for 5k, you might be able to sell it for 7-8k but you might be holding it for a while. After all, it's a monte, not a GN:biggrin:

I might give ya $6K for it quick.

Then I can give ya a deal on my roller.

The montes are worse off than the Turbo cars in this economy. Unless your getting it for low dollar & your not going to try to get 8k out of it.

i called mike from mikesmontecarloparts and asked what it may be worth and he told me he bought a 85 ss with 13,000 miles for $10,000 or $10,800 i cant remember.it was this year i think he said in the spring.

he told me the 87 is a more desireable year and probably worth $10,000 or maybe a little more, he basically said i should have zero issues selling it for $8000 anyday in this economy.

the current owner wants $7500 and i am hoping that is negotiable a little as he seems like he wants to free up his cash.

so if i could buy it for $7000 and sell for $8500 quick i would be happy.

i'll keep everybody informed as to how this goes.

thanks for the input from everybody:)

Aw, come on James. We all know you'll just part it out if you get it.:eek:

Well then best of luck to you on making a quick profit but I'm thinking the same thing as everyone else....that you'll be holding onto it for a long time because nothing is selling well at this point.

I saw a nice looking 87 SS this summer, with a bad transmission, sell for $1000. Motor ran, body and interior were nice, everything was all there. I was shocked how cheap it went for.

My friend just bought a low mile SS for 6300 last summer. I don't think it had T tops though. He's a monte freak. He says it's in better shape than the one he bought new from the dealer. I keep trying to get him to sell those montes and buy a GN:cool:

Hmmm they'res an AeroCoupe SS around the corner from my house. I saw it about a year ago maybe, cant remember. Its been sitting outside behind a barn and was the tags died in 04 or 05 i think. It was all there but needed some love.

If I ever get some cash stored away (yeah right) I may go see what the owner wants for it.

hate to Burst your bubble. but my Pal picked up the GP 2+2 with low miles for 5k.. that is about MAX.

The Aero's bring more $$, they're much rarer. Only 200 in 86, 6052 in 87.

Good Info here on the SS's Monte Carlo SS Information & Resources
, probably the best SS site. Check the FAQ section & other sections for differences, specs etc..
88 was the last year for the SS & fewer were made. 85 was 1st year for the 2004R, 83-84 had the 350C Trans. All had 305ci.
84 Mexican version came w/350ci, Hurst 4-speed.

I've had many Monte SS's and I can tell you one thing.....Unless you can get it for $5k, I wouldnt waste your time. The original ones are nice but the modded cheaper ones are selling much quicker.

The black and gold ones are the ones to have, burgandy on burgandy are probably the least desirable.

If you buy it thinking you can just part it to get your $7k back, your not going to get more than $2k out of it back. The parts for those cars are everywhere.

Pass it along to someone that actually wants the car to enjoy it.

I'd love to have a burgandy one but if it didn't have grey interior I would make it have grey interior:cool: I like blue and burgandy on those cars, but then again I'm kinda different which most of you know:rolleyes:
