9 years ago today very bad men decided to complete a terrible deed.

We are not untouchable as previously believed. Through our armed forces and combined resolution we came together as one. We put our differences aside to mourn and help those that suffered as a direct result of these bad men.

This was a wakeup call. If anything it showed that we can all pool our resources for the greater good and protection of this nation.

Use this unforgettable event to remind yourself that we are capable of "being one" as a nation. It seems that in the aftermath and over time we again scatter our priorities and continue on a path of intolerance, indecision, and general bickering. We are better than this, we are America.

We were once a beacon of hope and a model for something that works. The world seems to be in a state of turmoil with no defined leader and symbol of good and justice. We were once sought after for assistance, physically and monetarily. We were in essence "big poppa"...now it seems we are the rich uncle who is too busy to be bothered and writes checks blindly.

I will use today and the memory of what happened 9 years ago, to hopefully help me be a better human.

I sincerely hope nothing like this happens to us again....but there are people out there, and they are waiting for the right moment.

I'm not a praying person, but I will end this with god bless us all.

One of the very few days in my life I felt powerless. I was at a large farm show that had about 75,000 people there that day and you could hear a pin drop.

We left around noon and headed home and there were already people lining up for gas and it was at $4.50 a gallon in a matter of hours after the attack

I am afraid it is just a matter of time before they try/accomplish another big one.

Never forget, God bless the friends and families of those lost their lives living in freedom and fighting for it.
On this day I will pray and reflect on all the people that died in the attacks and our men and women that have lost their lives making sure this does not happen again...

Well said by all......pray for those that were lost and their families and never forget and pray it doesn't happen again.

Sadly we never found a trace of my cousins girlfriend of 11 years, she worked for AON Insurance.

Wow, that is terrible...
People from our company came out for Human Identification.
One person in our group could not really even talk about it.
It was like the post traumatic stress syndrome a veteran would have...

We had a moment of silence this morning at our fire house. Also have had some people stop by to say thanks.
I have never been one to seek out recognition for any thing I have done or will do. But it is nice to know that people appreciate what we do.

Never forget! My prayers go out to the families that lost loved ones on that day or as a direct result from what occured on that day. Honestly, I don't think our country has still recovered fully from the attack and I'm not sure we ever will. I think the best thing we can do as citizens in this country is to be extra vigilant and be aware that we will always have those individuals that would like to take away our freedoms.

+1

It's a day for all of us to remember forever, both for those who perished and because it was able to be done.
We should never allow this to happen again, and we cannot continue to view such attacks as having been done by individuals or a group of people, we have to show our power to the Countries these terrorists come from.
Our power ended the war with Japan, we have the power to tell those Countries to keep their radicals at home or we will destroy their Country. And not rebuild it.
