So this is what it's come to with some of the famous nameplates for GeniusMotors these days.
The fleecing of nameplates.
Just a ZL/1 on a diet - for a mere $20K more.

As I keep saying every time someone chirps up about a new GN, and people say - "Id buy that" - and I say - "Settle down, even if they make it - you can't afford it"
And here is more proof.
To hell with trying to develop a whole new loyal generation of enthusiasts loyal to the Camaro Z/28 heritage.
Nope.
GM is content to make $40K per car on 1000 cars, vs. $4K on 10 thousand cars.

think about it with the tech they have in any high performance highend cars these days that's a really good deal. quad turbo Bugatti 2-1.5 mill, $500,000 lambos,1.5 mill mcclarens, hell a stock GTR 120k before taxes or any modds I have a ton of buddy that have more than 80k in there 8.& 9 sec GN,S. The list go,s on and on go to foose or hotrods by troy have them build you a hot rod 200k.

The Camaro is just over priced and ugly. I think the Mustang is a better bang for the buck. Ford seems to be on the leading edge for the car guy today. I have always been a GM guy but the I would buy the Mustang over the Camaro and a Viper over a Corvette.

If I had that kind of money, it would be a Corvette for me........they've always been expensive. It's all relative. Still, I've never been disappointed with a Corvette. The new ones are awesome in performance, that's what I really care about. The looks are secondary to me, but, really looks badass........it's going FAST not only in a straight line, but AROUND corners that counts.......I loved being slammed into my seat (another reason I have the GN). The Camaro is nice, but.....well, I just can't put my finger on.......still, it's a cool looking car.....but for that kind of money, only a Corvette, the true American sports car will do it for me......that's just my opinion. I know others will digress.

The old Vettes were so easy and nice to repair, work on, improve performance all day...it's what I loved doing.......nothing beats the LOUD roar of side exhaust, especially three inch diameter ones with headers..........music to my ears.....today's cars are too damn quiet!............technology has caught up with all cars, and now I'm relearning all over again. The world moves forwards for us all.

Actually not too bad.
I already had 2 regular ones, and it was like...ohh snap..too bad.

I still think they've lost their way.
Like so many things these days - It's all about the ultra high end, and there doesn't seem to be a emphasis on cultivating the next generation of GM loyalists.
For as much nuthugging as Mark Reuss seems to get, he doesn't exactly strike me as the down to earth type of guy who sees the benefit in grabbing a new generation of performance buyer.
No - that's a regular Camaro for you young man.
The Z28 was for years a car an every day guy could afford.
Whatever I guess.

But anyway - I still watch with eager anticipation that should they whore out the GN nameplate - the price tag that will come with it.

The younger folks earn much less, have less security, fewer benefits, along with higher expenses than the Boomers or GenX'ers.
By a long shot.

As the article states, these cars will probably be purchased by some rich people and stashed in a garage.
That sounds Super.
What that does for GM's image is anybody's guess.

OK - but - it's a freakin' Camaro for crying out loud.
A Z/28 Camaro.
Manufactured by a company that only a couple of years ago - went Bankrupt.
When did things get so out of whack that they price and compare these proud traditional American muscle cars to Bugatti, Lambo, and McClaren?
That's crazy.
So the kids will keep buying Hondas and Mazdas then I suppose.

I'm talking about the kids that are now in grade school. When they are in the income, its going to get real interesting.

Second thought I will just keep the Buicks. If I get beat by one of those $75000 Disney cars it won't be anything to be ashamed of And it will just motivate me to spend some money on the old cars
