Does your wife know how you feel Bruce?:wideyed::p:ROFLMAO:

Unfortunately, yes.....she gracefully puts up with all of my strange proclivities. I could say more, but I don't want to get "slammed.":shame::LOL:

(By the way, your "special tea" recipe REALLY SLAMMED me! Jeez, but perfect for the cold weather.....like pouring antifreeze in a human!)

OMG no.
The younger folks earn much less, have less security, fewer benefits, along with higher expenses than the Boomers or GenX'ers.
By a long shot.

As the article states, these cars will probably be purchased by some rich people and stashed in a garage.
That sounds Super.
What that does for GM's image is anybody's guess.

it's a flagship car- one that gets publicity and people into the dealerships. a few of them will also find their way out to the race tracks of the world and show people what GM's engineers are capable of building. every special piece on them is available at any GM parts counter if you want to make your V6 or regular SS Camaro look or handle like the Z..

Well I did warn you Bruce.:D It does take the edge off cold weather though.:ROFLMAO:

Hyundai sure did a good job of cultivating a buyer. When they showed up in the 80s with the exel I thought what a pos, but the stuff they push now are more akin to a Mercedes Benz than a economy vehicle.
Gm on the other hand, ran their brands into the ground and killed them off. Not really a sound business plan for the long term. To go from a majority market share to less than half of what they once had and having the margins cut on top of that, they are a textbook case for how not to do it.
As far as the GNX I would have gladly dropped the $50-75k on one, but I was 19 and the WE4 was more in my budget at $17k.

I agree with all of the above statements. GM has gone badge crazy and lost it's mind a few years ago. Case in point: The GTO was a terrible idea. Rebadge a Holden and attempt to pass off an Australian car to the stateside gang. The SSR- I can't even remember anyone I knew that owned one. (Kinda neat idea, but didn't sell enough to justify the price).
And the ultimate- the Cadillac Escalade. GM realized QUICKLY that they had a pool of rich buyers that wanted these rebadged surburbans and Tahoes! Did you ever see the sticker price for the goofy hybrid model they made? I saw the tv ad and couldn't believe the small print! It was MSRP around $80-90k! I'm serious!

Stolen from Edmunds 2011 review of the hybrid escalade... I simply cannot believe people paid this kind of money!

"The all-wheel drive Platinum Hybrid seen here – an admittedly loaded to the headliner example – rings up at an eye-watering $89,090. That's beyond a princely sum. Of course, a base rear-drive hybrid Slade can be had for just over $74k, or a gas-only Platinum can be had for $82.5k if that's more your bag."

I've got an Escalade and I absolutely love it. If someone is calling it a rebadged Tahoe, they haven't driven one. Bigger engine, better suspension, better interior, bigger wheels, etc...the list goes on and on. If you can't afford it, don't bitch about it.

Hey sounds like you love it and that's great! I certainly can afford one, but I like to think that someone else should enjoy that MSRP far more than me.

Wonder how long B4 they start getting traded...About 2-3 serious ass whippins at the stop lite, and money bags will be cryin the blues, heading to the dlr.
Nothing more deflating to his ego, than to have some old fart put 3 lengths on him, B4 100mph!!:shifty:

The engine?? We just bought a LS3/525HP crate engine for <$6500. I wonder how they justify that outrageous add-on??

Turbo jay - wasn't downing your ride. I had a Denali back in 2004 and it was magnificent. I choked down a $48000 price tag with it on sale. Just doubling that amount seems to me like pure profit in the GM coffers. Bigger engine, better interior and ride, sure, but double? I know the days of a sub $25000 car are over. But to ask $80k for a z28 is a bit far fetched. Even the caddy XLR wasn't in that territory. And that was a sweet ride! The CTSv is amazing- and once the price shot north of $70k, they slowed down on sales.
