I had sort of the same thing happen a few years ago. The White Sox won the World Series and the season opener of the next season had me and my son next to the Sox bullpen. Not one of their pitchers would give an 11 year old an autograph and my son was very disappointed and miserable. The GM heard about it and came out with an autographed "Gold Inlaid World Series" ball and a letter for him on White Sox stationary.
The look on his face priceless.

I really dislike people like those pitchers,they should be thankful that someone / anyone in the stands at their games would want an autograph from them and realize if it wasn't for the fans they wouldn't have a job and be making the kind of money that they do.
I'm glad the GM did that for your son and i'm sure that your son will remember that moment for a long time.

My dad caught a foul ball for me at Yankee stadium back in the late 60's. Unfortunately, he used his face to catch it.
Knocked him out and it bounced out to 3rd base. They gave us the ball and it had his blood all over it. Think he still has it.:smile:
