Hi folks,

I'll try to keep it short. I need some advice.

I did the spring cleaning. Trans fluid and a filter.

Car (87 GN) shifted crappy before and I was wondering if it was the TCC.

Anyway,... Adjusted the TV cable. No dice. The car just does not want to shift sometimes. It's making a whirring noise also I noticed now after the fluid/filter change. When I can coax it into shifting it shifts pretty hard,....

When coasting to a stop you can definately hearthe tranny slowing down (Converter?) whirring while it does so,....

Just giving it a little throttle,...it's like the converter speeds up but it doesn't want to make the car go any faster.

 I'm about to go buy another filter kit and pull the pan yet again. Could an improperly installed filter cause this trouble??? Had a friend helping me at the time of the first change,.... I was trying to be gentle with the filter,.... having a hard time getting the new one seated,... He ended up giving it a try and got it to snap into place,...although it looked like he had to use a hell of a lot of force to do so. Yes,.....I did fish out the old seal from the previous filter.

I also just got back from driving around the block. After searching I saw a thread where someone advised the person to unplug the 4 wire connector on the outside of the tranny. TCC??? I did this and it made zero difference in the way the car drives/whirring noise.

Any advice? Things I might be missing?

Thanks for reading,....was a bit longer than I intended....
