adjusted tv cable for earlier shifting

I just adjusted the tv cable recently to allow for earlier shifting because i didn't like how the tranny was shifting. Felt like it was hanging on the top of the gear, say 2nd and 3rd, before shifting. Sometimes I would have to let my foot off the gas a little to get it to shift to the next gear. I pulled the cable forward very slightly and the difference now is that it shifts earlier right where i want it. Like 1-2 is at 13 mph, 2-3 is at 25, 3-4 is at 44mph. Is that good? I also notice that the 2nd-3rd shift is less firmer and I think is soft compared to the 1-2 shift which is stil firm. Before I adjusted the tv cable the 2-3 was a little more firmer. All of this is at partial or half throttle. Will have to check how firm the 2-3 shift is a WOT. All in all the tranny ain't slipping so far. Any suggestions on what I should do is appreciated.

Sounds like your right on...

Re-setting the cable to fac. spec (max tv) and adjusting out a click or two for your desired feel is normal and will be fine, if your happy nothing else need be done.

soft 2-3 shift

ok I think I like the earlier shift points now. But I'm a little worried about that 2-3 shift. Its not as firm as the 1-2 shift. Neither is the 3-4 shift. Then again, it was annoying before the tv cable adjustment how the shifts would be too firm.
