Adjusting the wastegate. please help me

I know that if you make it longer you reduce the boost and if you make the rod shorter you gain boost because you close the flap. My question is how do you do that? I turned the nut that's close to the turbo on the rod then i tried turning the rod. Man that thing was so hard the car started moving. Or Am I supppose to take off the rod from the downpipe?

Take the end off the DP, then turn the end clockwise to make it shorter. Be carefull

If you loose the clip, go get one like the throttlebody cable clips. they fit the swing valve pissa!
