I am trying to remove the oil feed line from the block to the turbo.

I believe it is the original 21 year old line and the nut is mostly rounded off.

Nut and tube turn as a complete unit even though I have sprayed it liberally with penetrating oil.

Any advice on how I may be able to remove it without destroying the tube itself ?

better off replacing it because of the oil build up in there from the heat that oil takes on. its like getting a clogged pipe at home

Order and have on hand a replacement line first.
Then use vice grips to get your old line off.
That is what I had to do on mine last year when replacing it.
Just make sure you have the replacement on hand before basically destroying the stocker. Also, make sure you try to keep that brass block intact for reuse. It's no longer produced and hard to come by.

Hello all.

Thank you for the replies so far.

I did try vice grips but the brass block turns with the nut and line as 1 complete unit.

I am worried if I keep twisting, I may damage that brass block or the oil pressure switch that is attached to the brass block as well.

I am contemplating cutting the line just before the nut and then try to figure out a way to hold the block still while twisting away on the nut.

Once I cut the line there's no turning back

Cut the line really short at the brass block and just take the block off the motor ( take sensor off ). Work on it off the car and you'll save some frustration and time.

Is the brass block screwed on or pressure fit ?

If it is pressure fit, do I need some type of gasket or sealer to reinstall it ?

Never had this part off before

Screwed on. You can use brake line to replace the prebent line if you need to get the job done.

It's a 1/4" pipe thread. Just unscrew it. When you put it back on put some sealer on it. :)

you have to put a wrench on the block then try to get the oil line off or else it will turn with it

Just wanted to update and thank everyone for their input.

Ended up having to cut the line, remove oil pressure switch and remove the brass block entirely. Then had to heat the rounded nut up with a propane torch to remove it. Put everything all back together tonight but got too dark to test for leaks. Will do so hopefully tomorrow.

I don't know why but every 2 hr job I tackle with this car takes 2 days to complete. I guess thats part of the fun with the TRs.

Again thank you to everyone who offered their suggestions. It is appreciated.
