After getting a couple of different sets of exterior door handles and installing them and not liking how they angled out so bad i decided to look into it a bit more. What i found was that the aftermarket studs sit up on more of an angle then a OEM one on the right side making it look like you have already opened up. So i notched the spring stopper in order to make it sit more like the OEM one. So if your doing door handles and you have aftermarket ones you might want to do this in order for them to look correct. The left side seems to look more like the OEM stud angle,so it might just be the passenger right one thats not made correctly. Just wanted to put this out there to help. I will know more tomorrow after i install them both, but this will fix them both if need be.
The one on the right is a new OEM chrome door handle to compare to. The final picture is of it complete with the notch done sitting flat.

Looks good!
A shame they can't accurately duplicate a part, with the "real part" sitting in ft of them......Ho Chi Min must have been having some bad hair days when he made that mold.

Lol! yeah must have been. It's is just the passanger side one that needs modified to sit flat. The driver side one is better...not perfect but it would work. The other problem is they have a ton of side to side movement when tighten down and the handle is loose and it will rattle, just some poor workmanship all the way around. I understand we need cheaper places to make parts, but how is it that SpoolFool's (Fillers) can make a quality product for these cars and do it in the US and still make money and we continue to send this stuff over seas and get crap back in return. It makes me not want a TR sometimes, everything i ordered that was aftermarket for this car I'm doing had to be modified in order for it to work, i spend more time fixing crap then what it's worth. It's hard to tell a customer i had a $100.00 part that was new and you owe me $200.00 more to get it to work. Aftermarket door hinges are junk too. The lower ones are the same for both sides and i can tell you from doing these doors that the driverside needs modified also...they have a right and left side for a reason...just frustrating... bottom line is if the parts not correct don't sell them to customers...period...sorry to vent.

And here I thought my crooked ill-fitted POS passenger handle was installed incorrectly, thanks for the tip.
