Aftermarket PS Pump and Hydroboost Question

For those of you who have Hydroboost and went to a power steering pump from Lee or Sweet, Turn One or Jones, what flow and psi specs did you give them?

Everyone I speak to has a range but asks me to tell them what I want. I'm seeing numbers all over the spectrum within posts on the forum.

give Junior a call at Turn One Steering in Michigan, he will ask a bunch of questions on your set up and needs.
For my particulars they ended up setting the PS pump up at 1850 psi & 2.9 GPM

Remember to tell him you have a reverse rotation saginaw PS pump for a Buick Grand National
Do you want them to leave the stock hose barb connectors or switch to -6AN pressure and -10AN feed / supply lines?
Just Let him know what you want....they have a service form to fill out to describe the work / service you want done.....download it and send it in along with your PS pump

When you start hitting the hb with really hi psi, be sure to address the pad choice.
My last 55 had an LS in it, stock LS/truck pump. The brakes were the < 11" metrics. Wouldn't stop in a football field length from 50.
A check of the psi at the caliper showed 8-900psi. This was w/ an 8" dble booster, and a 1.125" mc.
About 3 pad and caliper changes, it was still ng.
Added the hb, and did a check. I got 2100 psi @ the caliper. Plenty to smoke the pads, & the rotors! ......Which I did.
< 11" brakes, on a 3700# car is not good, to begin with.
The "new" 55 has 13" Vette brakes, 11" rear discs, and no booster. A Wilwood 15/16" mc.

Through the years, there have been 1000 threads on HB or vaccum conversions.

So you are saying that the HB has *higher brake line pressure* than vacuum and will have better stopping performance is the pads can take it?

Please, stop sharing facts!

Turn One Steering shipped out two pumps rated at 3.0 gpm and 1800 psi for my 87 T-type and my brother’s. I will let you know how it works out compared to the 100,000 mile stock one. Thanks again! I will show pictures too of my hydro-boost installation.

Here’s my install. Notice I had to lower the reservoir some or the master-cylinder sat on it. I made the steel fitting from stock female Saginaw to 6an for the stock pump pressure line. Also I came up with a nice fix for those running f-body radiators with unused ugly heater connection. Brass toilet tank bolt with cone rubber on inside and rubber washer and plastic nut on outside (after you cut and leave about a 1/4” on the radiator tube. Looks and performs better than the chineese boot and clamp. I now have Kirban‘s dual fans which I rewired the lead to cross over in stock wire loom and put relays under headlight access hole.
