I posted in the transmission forum but didn't seem to get any bites. I would like to get an aftermarket shifter for my car (B&M megashifter, Cheetah SCS, etc.) for my GN. I want one that has the indicator lights and the reverse light control. I would like to get rid of the stock console as I would like to put a gauge setup underneath the radio and just make it simpler looking. What do you all recommend? Does it require alot of hacking? And what are your opinions on shifters? I know lots of people just let the tranny control the shifts, but I would like the option to be able to do either.

U saw my pro ratchet shifter... when the weather warms up you can give it a whirl.

No missing gears with that... one gear at a time only.

I used to have an 87 GN with th-400 and a Cheetah SCS. Great shifter. Had a trans brake on it too. I miss that car, it was fun...

Yep and had the cover they sell without the switches on the sides. I got rid of that and gutted a console then put a carpeted piece of plastic around it. Looked nice.

Do you know if the console that comes with the shifters cover the entire hole on the floor? I would assume with the shifters like B&M etc, I would only need the plastic "rounded" to fit the "hump"? Or do you think any other mods would be needed?

there is also a bracket at the back of the factory console that goes throught the carpet to also cover up,(or atleast there was one on mine) just my .02

B&M Quick Silver shifter, has a indicator with a light to show you what gear you are in.
