aldl and sm,pl

Hey all, I've got my sm and pl hooked up and I'm getting crazy sp readings, 28 at idle and 40@ 70. When trying to verify timing, I shorted aldl a and b, but it won't flash codes key on engine off, and doesn't change base timing according to sm with engine on. Knock counts go way high with any boost. Help! Thanks

Those are normal timing readings.

When we talk about timing, we are generally only referring to timing at full boost. Timing varies greatly in all the other operating ranges. It could be anywhere from 16 to 50 degrees.

Hey Eric, it's Leland. I got my injectors, chip and powerplate in yesterday. All my numbers looked good and I'll quit chasing my tail with sp readings. If I go into any boost at all I'm getting knock counts without kr? Your thoughts on that please.

You can get knock counts without knock retard. It depends on how fast the knock counter increments. Also, my chip uses a knock ignore routine at very low MPH, usually 25mph and less, so make sure the ECM is seeing proper MPH.
If you want, post a log and I'll take a look.

Good morning, I got the pl to record some data, but I can't get graph pages to change. My F buttons above the keyboard don't change anything, and the graph page I'm reading just shows V(4),V(5), IAT, and AFR. What else can I do to get the pages to change, and when I get that working, how do I upload to the website? I seem to have two learning curves going, one for the car and the other for the computer. Thanks

To change a graph, just RIGHT click on any graph, and you will be presented with a list of possibilities to choose from.

Thanks, turbo dave, wasn't right clicking on correct spot. Now another favor, can anyone read the file I posted? My computer won't read .dat files, downloaded something but it didnt help. Thanks again and sorry for being a pita! I understand the car better then win7

The DAT file has to be read by the Powerlogger software itself. Just hit the LOAD button and select your file, then you can view it.

Allrighty then, I figured out how to download someone else's file and look at it with pl. Is there any shortcuts for that? Thanks everyone for your patients, I never even owned a computer till a few years ago. I'll post another log while driving car later in week. Cheers!
