Ok just testing the waters, wanted to see if anyone was interested in purchasing a razors alky injection kit with metco spare tire fuel cell and ported turbo adapter for HA. I'm looking to go e85 and was told none of this was necessary now so just let me know if interested.

Who ever told you to get rid of an Alky Kit with E85 is giving bad information. Keep the Alky kit and spay methanol along with E85. Brad

See three diff people told me get 120# injectors and not worry about alky

The 120# injectors are high impedance as far as I know, and unless you have an aftermarket ECU, or modified ECM, and a BIG fuel pump, you are asking for trouble.

You "may" have to upgrade the fuel lines as well to feed 720lbs total. Not sure, but look into it.

What is your goal for the car?

What do I know? One buddy runs E85 with alky and runs 10s in the quarter(87 car). Another buddy with E85 blew a head gasket with it(87 car). He is now looking for an alky kit. What the heck-head gaskets are a cheap and simple fix. Brad

I'm just saying what I've been told by these guys. And I know I will need the modded ECM I already have a 300 lph deatschwerks pump to put in. Lines I was thinking I might need fuel rails and a new feed line. Overall I want this to just be as BA as possible but don't want to intercool yet. With all the other issues I've had, head gaskets would be simple fixes. The car was supposed to be a decently built car in need of paint and seat covers, now look at my sig. Overall I'm $18000 in this thing now between issues and upgrades, it still needs paint and seat covers lol

I would leave the Alky kit on and simply turn it off once you go E85. Test and drive your car without the Alky and see if you need it or not. Saves you hassle of taking it out, selling it and end up having to get another Alky kit. I know all to well about shelling out 18K. My new motor corked me for $6500 on top of all my previous mistakes in the last seven years. Methanol will cool the charge on top of the E85 and provide higher effective octane the simply E85 alone. You get it when you most need it-under boost. Let us know how it come out. Brad

Ok fine you talked me into leaving it but where do I get a modded ECM for low z injectors and do I need much else to run those injectors.

What engine you got brad?

I have an 85 140 block bored .40 over. Roller 206/210 cam, ported heads, intake, throttle body. Compression ratio was raised using thinner Cometic gaskets. Ta33c turbo, Razor kit, and 42.5 injections. Crank and pistons are stock. I am now using a TT5.7 chip and using the widband o2 sensor for tuning. I finally got smart and realized that tuning my car is beyond my cranial capacity. I friend of mine who knows what he is doing is tuning it for me. He made more progress is one afternoon than I did in five years. When he is done the car will be in the twelves where it should be. I will gladly share what he does and how it works out.

I am really amazed that having the larger cam matched with the valves and the torque converter really does make a big difference. Brad

I was surprised the night and day difference between my 3.8 with ported parts over this 4.1 with champions. No joke this 4.1 spools my ta44 faster than my 3.8 did with the stock turbo, and the 224 roller makes this thing sound like a small block.

Mike- Your going where I will never be. These cars are addicting and once my car is tuned it's time to go cold turkey/sober up. I simply need to stop spending money and enjoy what I have. Let us know your progress. Brad

Makes you feel any better I cannot afford to go much farther so I will probably have a fast hot air that's ugly as all get out

Right there with ya Mike. It's so much fun playing with the go-fast goodies, there's no money left for cosmetics.

I've had this '291' short block back from the shop since February, but just got around to unwrapping & putting it on the stand yesterday. Feels like I'm finally making progress, LOL.

I fell both your pain.... I have 2- 4.1 motors built, have not even put one in my car and can't go any further... My car is back semi stock. I started buying parts and it got out of hand.... It has seen 12's (12.91@107) with a stock 3.8 motor, Kenne Bell wired pump, Kenne Bell NOS chip, Green top injectors, and a 2 1/2 ATR down pipe. Of course NOS (75-90hp) was worth almost 120-140 hp. I spent alot of time on the phone to Mike @NOS. I knew 75-90hp NOS shot was going to be the MAX for me. I would not even boost it. I set the boost to 16lbs. I launched off idle on spray. I would cross the line with 24lbs of boost. I only had it on a dyno once and it dynoed 329hp 391 torque on 90 hp shot. I had a SPEARCO water injection that I never got to use. I know Terry Penner got his car in the 11's (11.91) on NOS.

I know people hate NOS just as much as Intercoolers, but in 1994 I had alot of fun beating Stangs and Camaros with a SLOW 85 T:D. Because the NOS was hidden behind the TB /Turbo, no saw the NOS. The NOS was a wet system.

The Kenne Bell NOS chip was ahead of its time... Off NOS it was raised the speed limit to over 160mph. It had some timing variables that made NOS hit GREAT....
