hey julio, i'm still running rich as hell. i have my AFR's dialed in perfect on pump gas@18psi and the car is silky smooth. i have been trying to run 25psi and the AFR's dump into the 10's when i run the alky. all the setting in the PAC box are untouched. i really don't want to pull alky. i'm pulling fuel with the MAFTPRO (-20%) in the upper rpms and it's still rich. Is there a way i can make this pump less aggressive.

thank you..

also just to give you and example.. i lost about a 100rwhp in the upper rpms from the alky going off the charts rich. i have the dyno graph if you want me to post it.

sounds like

you need to get someone that has tuned with the maft pro to help you with this application. With the xfi it is like taking candy from a baby.

what chip are you running?

+1

The injector duty cycle has to be reduced. This is how to get it dialed in.

I dont have any experience tuning with the MAFTPRO. It came out when I went with the aftermarket ECU.

Example, on my car I run 38lbs an hour worth of fuel at my performance level. 75's at 50% DC.

Post back the chip..

just curious, i've always wondered this and finally remembered to ask it at an appropriate time, how is injector duty cycle reduced/advanced? by the chip programmer i assume...meaning send the chip back where you got it for re-calibration?

sorry fellas, i don't run a chip. this is on my supra. on the pump i got the tune perfect and the car runs great. when trying to run 25psi+ the alky goes super rich. can i just make the pump less aggressive?

fyi i'm shooting for 600rwhp.

What alcohol are you using?

If you are using anything other than methanol, you should switch to methanol as it has much less of an impact on AFRs compared to ethanol or especially isopropyl.

Secondly, I would not try reducing the amount of alcohol the kit is introducing. The alcohol is the only thing between you and detonation. The big blue knob will reduce the flow but if I were you I would reduce the amount of fuel in your ecm calibration instead. I like to tune to where the kit is almost maxxed out on the blue knob (leaving a tiny bit of upward adjustment just in case) and just reduce the fuel from the injectors accordingly.

This has given me the best results by far

give me some details on your tune..

Bob

hey bob, on pump gas at 18psi i'm running a FP of 30psi. i have -7% on the maniscale and i only tune in the high load table. from 4000-7000 rpms i'm pulling between -15% and -20% . this give me a perfect 11.6 afr on the WB all the way to redline.

i then turn the alky on.. (blue knob in the middle position and turn the boost to 24psi. AFR's go off the chart rich.

what do you recommend?

you either need to:

1) pull more fuel out of the high load page

or

2) connect the aux input wire (purple in the 6 pin harness) to the trigger output on the alky kit. Then when the alky kit activates, the aux settings will get added in. Then put -15 or so in the aux tune page.
(correct, Razor?)

or

3) use the AFR tracking to pull fuel for you.

Bob

You can use the gray wire as it sends a voltage when the system activates, or wire off the pressure sensing.. newer setup.. bare wire on pump cable to activate a relay.. once pump makes pressure.. activate mapping. But before any of this.. get it to track correctly with alky.. then wire in the additional parameter. This way your not chasing a few issues at the same time.
