I am pretty ignorant when it comes to alcohol and its effect on our cars. I have a stock motor, fuel system, turbo. Can I just crank up the boost to, let's say 22 lbs, and everything will be ok as long as I spray some alcohol? Can I just dump as much boost as I want into the engine without any consequences as long as I'm not running lean? I thought higher octane causes more heat and can damage your pistons. Is this true for alcohol?? Thanks!

Everything else has to be in good working order 1st.Alky might save you from blowing up your engine, its saved a few.Get a Scanmaster, learn how to use it,tune your car, then buy your alky kit.I just say Scanmaster because IMO they are very easy to use.If I can use one, anyone can.:)Scan tool is 1st mod.Usually around $200 used or $210 thru Ramchargers till the end of today.

Being the narrow minded fellow I am... Do you need a turbo to use ALKY, or can a non-turbo'ed car use it... how about non-fuel injected cars?

Thanks!!

It can, and its application will be trying to get a little more timing out of your present combo. Due to cooling and octane.

Its not nitrous.. its an anti-detonation agent. So it allows to squeeze the motor a little more on junk gas.

If you put race gas in, there would be very little benefit.
