Finished the cage and almost have the fuel system in. Hadn't planned to bring the car out of moth balls till the aluminium block was finished but there was something about a chicken :D (The phoenix crew will understand), so I'll run the built stock block for a little while longer. Hopefully it will last the season. All comments welcome.

holy hell, it may roll under its own power.................. SOON!

Its a jegs cage with optional seat saver bars and the front down and side bars I bent with my tubing bender. Will post more pics when I can.

If you have plans to go 9's consistently. The cage with swing-outs are not permitted. If it's just a safety thing and your plans are to flirt with 9's then I understand why you installed swing-outs. It looks great and I am looking forward for additional photos. Great job.

According to NHRA, swing out side bars are ok in a certified cage down to 8.50 in a full bodied car.

Mine is currently certified with both swing out side bars.

Well I know a little about chassis work and I will say that you did a damn fine job bending and installing. :)

I want to see Jack do the funky chicken when it goes down the 1/4.

we got lucky it was 7.50 certification but nows only 8.50 we got swing bars with rifle bolts with 2 inch enguagement .

I hate to see Lyle bust his ass just to see that chicken thing. Actually, I gave that sort of thing up when I left the farm. I can't be held responsible for an occasional flashback to the good old days. I think the chickens got to liking it. I had to chase them down at first but after a while they would meet me at the door with a seductive cluck...cluck.

Pass this along to Lyle and Krom. Lyle can put his car back into semi-retirement, there won't be any feathers flying at Speedworld.

Jack
