aluminum bearings

i am seing that companies are selling aluminum bearings instead of the clevite 77 bearings, and i can still find 77 bearings but standard size.

are aluminum bearings any good???

I've used them with a stock crank. They are more forgiving than the race type bearings. Ran mid-10s with them.

Not sure about this but I thought I read that GM uses aluminum bearings in the new LS engines...if true, they can't be all bad
