AMS-1000 wiring

I am looking for a little clarification about some wiring of the ams-1000

Map sensor wire? I believe it is #15 and i should tap into the factory map sensor signal. What will this get me other than being able to see the datalog on the screen (which i plan on using XFI to do anyways?)

I know the main screen has a target psi box and a second psi box. Is the second box the real Map PSI?

Also what does everyone use as an activation for #8 wire? Do you have a manual switch or what?
