I'm upgrading my turbo and going to an external gate.
I'm wondering what the pros and cons are of the AMS and the eboost2 controller.

I know many have used the AMS 500 but I haven't found any feedback on the eboost2.

Has anyone on the board used the turbosmart eboost2 setup?

If so are you happy with it and what are your likes and dislikes about it.

I'm looking for ease of use, accuracy and dependability.

I have the eboost street which is the small box instead of the gauge looking one. Easy to use and it has 2 boost groups. I haven't got to mess with the wastegate settings in it though. My car has been off the road for a while.

I looked at that but was drawn more to the the eboost 2 because of the features it has;

specs_eb2_table.jpg

Boost Levels: up to 6 levels of boost.
Boost on Demand: provides instant overtaking power at your fingertips
Gear-based Mapping: set a different boost for each gear!
Adjustable Boost Levels: program boost against TIME or RPM.
Aux Output: fully programmable; controls water spray, methanol or nitrous injection.
RPM Compensation: eliminates boost drop-off at high RPM.
Peak Hold/Max Boost Recall: monitors boost and RPM.
Gate Pressure: eliminates wastegate creep.
Overboost Shutdown: provides added protection for your engine .
Display: programmable, can be configured to KPA, Bar or PSI.
Auto Dimming: with backlit buttons for hassle free navigation.

Although having another gauge in the car doesn't appeal to me I would live with it for the ability to tune on the fly.

I want something that works as advertised and has high dependability.

The AMS comes with 2 solenoids and the eboost has one. One less part to fail, and from what I can tell does more than the AMS, but is it a proven performer is my question.

I have a twin setup and use 1 solenoid. . So 1 is fine.

I went with the turbo smart E-boost2 after comparing the two at length.

I haven't installed it yet as I'm waiting on the turbo right now.

The pros. I like that there are more features [controls more]and is programmable from the drivers seat.

It has only one solenoid [one less part] to fail or replace.

Basically everything I said in post #3.

I will post how it works and how well when I get it in the car and set it up and use it for awhile.
