I just went to the dealership to get a quote for brake pads and rotors for the wifes car. Just for the front pads and rotors (not including labor) it's $2487:eek:!!! With my discount it's still $1781!!! ..... This sucks! LoL

Ouch! that sucks. Unfortunatly those higher end German/foreign cars are pricey to fix. Our Audi is the same way.

try the new corvette ZR-1

I have heard brakes run about $4000 parts and labor,
ceramic rotors, special pads, and vacation for mechanic to hawaii!

Dang, I would trade it in for a newer model with new brakes:eek:, probably work out better

Could be worse.
Ferrari's can bleed you for $25K on a brake job.

$6K will get you an oil change...

The CC rotors on the new ZR-1 (according to GM) will last the lifetime of the car.

Could be a lot worse I guess! The McLaren SLR quote for just front and rear pads and rotors (not including the $199/hr labor rate) was $92,000!!! The guy next to me at the MB dealership were I worked did a price quote just for ****s and grins and it was about as much as a brand new Mercedes E63 AMG! Now thats expensive I guess! But considering the cars $500K new, I guess thats about right..... I just didnt think it was going to be too expensive to maintain the wife's care. I figured I still get employee cost so it should be cheaper..... I was wrong!

Even on my little C230 Sport just the fronts are $650 clams for pads and rotors. That is also with the "good guy" discount. Can't imagine what it would cost the average Joe off the street to have them done. Easily close to a grand. Germans make nice cars but they are hell on the wallet :p

I was waiting for you to repost saying you forgot a decimal point or something... Ouch.

that's rent! I'm sure your 500+HP daily driven smog legal beast is worth it....:p

Totally incorrect chicken.....it's $24K for pads and rotors on a CCM car.

an oil change only will run you about $350.

A full annual service (all fluids, filters) is $2K.

The pump for the F1 transmission is $16K for parts only.

You should have just fixed up the Suburban and drove that. ;)

I still have the front clip, maybe I can rebuild the truck from there.

You guys need to stop going to the MB dealership for brake jobs. I took my Dad's ML350 to the MB dealership for estimate on front brakes only. They insisted that I get all four brakes done and quoted me $1600 for new everything, they insisted they cannot use the old calipers or rotors. I just left shaking my head. Went to a local mechanic and he did just the fronts with new rotors but using the old calipers for $350. This is for a 2007 ML350 with 40k miles.

MB dealerships are stupid expensive and they are arrogant when you object to their very expensive quotes. I guess they are used to people just paying whatever they quote them.
