I have heard brakes run about $4000 parts and labor,
ceramic rotors, special pads, and vacation for mechanic to hawaii!
Could be worse.
Ferrari's can bleed you for $25K on a brake job.
$6K will get you an oil change...

Just for the front pads and rotors (not including labor) it's $2487!!! With my discount it's still $1781!!! ..... This sucks! LoL

Even on my little C230 Sport just the fronts are $650 clams for pads and rotors. That is also with the "good guy" discount. Can't imagine what it would cost the average Joe off the street to have them done. Easily close to a grand. Germans make nice cars but they are hell on the wallet
Damn that's rent! I'm sure your 500+HP daily driven smog legal beast is worth it....

You guys need to stop going to the MB dealership for brake jobs. I took my Dad's ML350 to the MB dealership for estimate on front brakes only. They insisted that I get all four brakes done and quoted me $1600 for new everything, they insisted they cannot use the old calipers or rotors. I just left shaking my head. Went to a local mechanic and he did just the fronts with new rotors but using the old calipers for $350. This is for a 2007 ML350 with 40k miles.
MB dealerships are stupid expensive and they are arrogant when you object to their very expensive quotes. I guess they are used to people just paying whatever they quote them.
"You should have just fixed up the Suburban and drove that."
I still have the front clip, maybe I can rebuild the truck from there.
