thread got deleted as I was reading it.....went to page 2 and said i had an invalid link....hrmmmm. It was the "PLEASE CONSIDER ME PERSONALLY BANNED" thread.....that sux, was some good reading.:(

Bye!

I can't say I'm surprised, but I'm truly deeply saddened. It sounds stupid, but this is one of the hardest decisions I've had to make in a long time.

I'm not sure what's going on behind the scenes here but it's not good. If they can't be open and honest to the community about the actions they take - especially an action as serious as banning a well liked, valuable contributor and long-time member of this community - then I don't want my name popping up on the members list here.

I've been here a little over 5 years and it used to be that, while it's not a democracy, nothing (or very little) was kept from the community. If someone was banned the general population would be in agreement with the rationale - and would be told why if they asked. Nothing would be done behind the scenes that couldn't be done out in the open.

I'm shocked at the actions of the mods, too, many of whom I've considered really good people. I suspect they're not acting in a manner that they're comfortable with either. Rather, they're bowing to some kind of pressure exerted by people who aren't even participating members of this community.

So while I'm not arrogant enough to think my leaving is going to create a big gaping hole in the community, I'd like to think at the very least the powers that be here would question why someone who has spent some number years here would want to leave.

I needed to get out and hang with Buick people - like Rich - "real time" anyway. E-town is just a hop-skip-and-a-jump from here.

It's been real, it's been fun but lately it's not been real fun.

Over and out. I'll be on the "other boards", same handle.

Jim

People need to get a life.
Lately the net, not just here, seems to be about people being victims, or not carring about doing the right thing anymore.

If folks wanna leave, well, bye, but by the same token where ever you go, there you are.

If someone has a gripe, that's part of life. How you hand it, defines who, you are. Not every little beef in life is worth making a federal case of.

Well, I got things to do.

I think yer right about that Bruce , some things you have get the F B I involved in, more in .......

I have to agree with you there.I've been around here scince I got my first TTA in 1999 and have seen alot of things change. But the way Rich and others have been treated lately seems very unfair to me especially scince these guys are always there to help if you need it and have been around along time(some bought their turbo Buicks new).

I dont usually voice my opinion much around here but consider alot of these guys friends and good people in general - that hopefully I will see and hang out with this year at E-Town and other places - and it's a shame whats happened here.

And I saw that Jason D was browsing the board this morning.Wonder what he has to say about the changes???

Do you think the ones who deleted the original thread took the time to maybe read it and just maybe gain some insight from what the members had to say...................naH.

Naw, as long as they have a delete key they'll not have to listen.

... and what thread was deleted???

Aw, just a bunch a rabblerousers trying to say whats on their mind. No place for that here. They were upset about Bruce banning somebody because the GSCA told him too. I mean hey, when the GSCA calls, what are you supposed to do man. You don't wanna wake up with some horses head in your bed with you. ;)

and it's just a matter of time until this one is gone

guys its real simple.

this is an excelent sorce for information, just look at the number of smart peopel we have hear. if i ever have a problem this is the first place i come. if you want to speak your mind the thread might get deleted. i've been trying to stay out of this and don't know exactly whats going on, but it seems as though threads are being delted for any reason possible, if i'm wrong someone please correct me.

but if you have something you want to get off your chest go over to t6p.com they will allow pretty much anything. not the best site for info but still good. here recently i've been going to both of these sites.

I'm not going to go running from here just because someone was treated poorly, i've had nothing but good experences here and think most people would agree that this really is a great place. if its this bad why give up, fight it.

I have never gotten involved in any in these posts, and I'm still not sure what has been going on, but back on the older board in early 2000, I made a post that the topic read "stay away from Moderns 3" single exhaust" due to the system having the brackets in the wrong place ,and requiring rewelding. Mike L never said anything bad, or got involved, and was nothing but nice & helpful on the phone after problems. I still sort of regret posting it, as it could have been a problem on only mine, and Mikes attitude was great anyway.

Sort of irrelevent, yet it shows how we were able to say what we wanted.

Thats as it should be , no coverups or overeacting , let people have their say and move on .

I think thats the problem with alot of boards that are owned or moderated by vendors. As much as they say they will stay neutral,it seems a very rare occasion that they actually do(Mike L did a pretty good job of that)

I think some of the mods(and super mods)shouldnt be vendors or guru's that many hold high(and then unfortunatly develop large ego's, no offense to those who havent)but rather people that understand what the forum is for and will do their best to moderate without personal feeling and interest involved.

And lastly,if they keep deleting threads in the lounge such as those that have been deleted and probrobly this, maybe they should just do away with anything called a lounge area instead of dealing with all this bullsh!t.
