I made the switch to e85 back in 2006, at that time the cars still had alky on them and I had it turned on at a low setting. After a while I removed it just to de-clutter the cars and get rid of it. The pumps were only gonna do one thing anyways. Quit working.
With E85 you can make enough power & pressure to push the heads right off a 109 and never be anywhere even remotely close to detonation. Lotsa fuel, lotsa boost, and low timing will get it done and she’ll stay together just fine. Adding methanol doesn’t really help anything when there’s no detonation in the way.
