I bolted on the IAC relocator to the TB and when i went to reinstall it the IAC now hits the steel (3 of them i think) vacuum lines that run underneath the TB....i see a bolt that is holding them to the lower intake.....should i remove or what....what do you guys do???

Thanks for the help!!!

JM

I just checked mine out. It still has the bolt attached to the manifold. But it doesnt appear to be even close. I do have an accufab TB and PTE upper which is slightly taller than stock. If the bolt is all thats keeping it from going in there, just take it out;)

Ok, i just have a Jay Jackson modified stocker TB and Plenum.....i guess i typed it wrong but its not the bolt thats in the way....its the vacuum lines that run underneath....the bolt i was referring to is the one that holds the vacuum lines down....the bolt is fine, what i was just saying was "can i remove that particular bolt so that i can move the vacuum lines so that they won't hit the relocator".......basically i want to know if that bolt has any sigfigance to anything.....i've taken my intake and all apart before but it was over a year ago and i can't remember much about that bolt....Thanks!!!!!!!!!

The bolt just secures those lines under there. I ve driven my car with out that bolt for years until i pulled the motor the last time and decided to put it back in. Its no biggie if u have to tweak the lines slightly to get this thing in.

Man thats strange....yours doesnt even come close to the vacuum lines.....

My bolt came out 12 years ago when I put on my Kenne-Bell plenum spacer.

The spacer is gone replaced by a J.J. modified throttle body and plenum and R.J. power plate. :)

No problems with the lines.

I'm assuming you also run a relocator.....
The extra height that the power plate gives you probably gave enough clearance.

No relocator I was just stating you don't need the bolt and those lines can be repositioned most any way without harm.

Had to move mine a bunch with the 1/2" phenolic spacer to make everything reach the TB.

Hey Louie, I like the tranny support in your picture! I use a pipe with two bolts welded onto it that fits into the tranny bell housing and rests on the frame, both sides. Nice car and engine for sure! Gene

Thanks :D :D :D

The powerplate took care of the problem....i have about 3mm clearance now......thanks!!!
