pictures are so cheap and easy to provide these days that it's not a big deal to provide them.. almost everyone has a high megapixel camera built into the cell phone in their pocket and internet connections that make it possible to send a high resolution pic all the way around the world in a few seconds.. i'd rather see some pics before buying something to know that it at least exists, but i'm not going to actually buy anything that i can't actually look at and touch with my own hands before handing over the cash- a couple of pics sent via email can keep me from wasting the time and gas to go look at something.

pictures are great, but that doesn't always mean that what you're seeing is the part you're going to receive!

even with pictures, I get people calling (usually C/L) saying "man, if I just had the money, I'd buy it right now!"
- so I usually tell them "awesome! if you HAD the money, I'd sell it to you!"
makes me wonder why they bother calling in the firstplace!?

I remember selling a cam and the guy wanting pictures of every lobe

There some that take it all the way (pictures, info, text message, email, the talk to you engine builder etc) and the next thing you know you get the ''sorry'' im going to have to pass...

I don't see what the big deal is. You put it on the internet for sale, take some pics of it. All it's going to do is help the item sell better and reduce the chance to getting "asked" to provide pics.

If people end up not buying your item for whatever reason, then that's another story.

If I'm on CL or any forums like this and don't see pics attached I move on....I hate lazy people and there are different variations to what people call new or perfect condition. Prices and pics are a must! When I post ads I make sure i add as many pics as possible..sure younger dumbass questions...but it sells quick...

I'm in the car business, you think these guys here are tire kickers? HA

You wouldn't survive one Saturday on the sales floor

I love when I list something brand new in the box and they want pics They get a pic of the box and one of my bare ass lol

god forbid we have to put some effort to make 20 bucks these days.

its alot easier for me to snap and shoot a pic then to sit at a booth at a car show and freeze my ass off, listin to the endless storys of how they had one, truck all the crap there, pack, un pack.... etc etc etc......

i like the tire kickers personally, it gives me an idea as to marketing.... if you have a bazillion people asking pics for the same part, you have something thats in demand.. use there input feed back and other BS to devlop your own selling strategy.

you just need to get the right tire kickers..... thats the key.... one important tire kicker here... can trigger alot of little tire kickers... which leads to a sale.

There is a reasons people want to see pictures. One of those is because some people out there sell things and describe them as being in a certain condition. Upon delivery to the new owner, they are far from said condition. Pictures can take care of a lot of this problem. Honestly, if you don't want to take 5 minutes to snap a few pics and upload them, then you don't want to sell an item online very badly. Run it in your local free classifieds paper and sell it the "old fashioned" way if the new and improved way is so bothersome.

I also don't get these guys who put up an internet ad then state they aren't willing to ship. Maybe for a local Craigslist ad that's fine. But on nationwide message boards? Weird.

I agree with you DJ. If you want a local sale then advertise it locally, not here where you get international exposure. Yes, we do have people from all over the globe that visit the board looking for parts.;)

I dont know - call me crazy but i'll never buy another item from an individual again (even from the board here) without seeing pictures of the actual item prior to paying. It's only happened once about a year ago, and i didnt get what i expected since opinions of "excellent condition" vary. It's different if it's a new piece from a supporting vendor; i can handle that. Yhere's even a couple of supporting vendors that i'd buy a used piece from without seeing a pic, but not just an individual from the masses. If you can't or won't post a pic, i'll take my hard earned sheckles elsewhere, but you won't hear me cry about it either. I havent sold anything yet, but that's going to change soon. When i post up in the f/s section ther will be pics accompanying it.

GLWS!!
