Anyone ever own a ~2005 Chevy Silverado SS?

Wifey wants me to get a truck, and wants something we can all fit in. (Fam of 5 so Lightning is a no go...) i like the look of the Silverado SS, and it has the 6.0 LS and AWD. Would be something fun and probably more "me" than a stock regular silverado.

Anyone have any experience with them?

A guy I work with drives one and he loves it. He like it better than his 2012 ctsv. That car is bad ass . I have worked on the ss trail blazers and have driven quite a few.I like them .

Got a friend that has one. He has nothing to bad to say about it. Loves it.

I have owned my 05 silv ss since 07 I have been happy with it since day one. With a few mods it really pulls nicely. No mech problems to date but some of my guages are starting to flake

Yeah I am strongly considering it. I sold my T so have to pick up another driver. Wife wants me to buy a plain truck but I have never really had a "plain" vehicle. Always have to have something fun and different. She put the brakes on buying an NA regal and going turbo LS, so the SS may become mine in spite!

I went out of my way to get a 2 wheel drive just to play with it. 03 and 04 models are all awd... starting in 05 you have a choice.

Yeah i saw that. I like the idea of awd for fun street launches, but it will prob suck a little more gas as a daily... This will be my daily!

I'm confused. I didn't know Silverado SS came with 4 doors. You mention a family of 5 will they fit in a Silverado SS? I always thought the Silverado SS was a 2 door just like the lightning.

It only came with an extra cab not a true 4 dr. 4 doors have a smaller bed to make up for the larger cab. I know you could get some of the true 4 door 1500s with the 6.0 liter in it. Think they called it the 1500HD.
