I had a pair of the Skullcandy headphones by Snoop Dogg that were pretty pricey. Those really work well if you have a PC with the beats audio, otherwise it kind of a waste of money unless. Trust me the snoop Dogg ones are a bit better. Limited Edition though they may not have em anymore.

they are supposed to be some of the best over ear headphones you can buy... i know someone who has them and he uses them when we workout and around campus and loves them...

I heard that they sound good but can fall apart.
Keep in mind my friend tried to world travel with them..
If he wants them, just make sure he takes good care of them.

I have them... They sound great especially if you like bass. I swear I close my eyes and think I'm in a car with a nice stereo... The only downside is like John said above, mine started having a problem... I have to wiggle the cord sometimes because they cut out, started happening after a couple months and I take care of them. They come with a nice case and everything. Would still recommend to anyone looking for high end headphones. I don't know how old your son is or if you have seen the recent studies but warn him first because you can really crank these things up they are powered by 2 AAA batteries like a built in amplifier.
