Anyone here day trade?

I am wanting to open an account through a online stock trader, but am really unsure were to get started. I would really just like to make some small purchases and see were they go, nothing big. I guess it would kinda be a learning experience. I have a big interest in trading i just dont know alot so i am curious if some here could give me some pointers.

If you mean day trading in the literal sense... where you sit at your computer and make multiple trades per day... and you're having to ask about how to go about doing it... don't. That would be like going to the track, jumping into a pro stock car and asking someone how to drive it... you'll probably end up getting hurt.

And even if you somehow get lucky and make money your tax return will be so wickedly complex you will want to cry.

If you mean just buying a few stocks and watching them, that's smart and I'm guessing whoever you sign up with could walk you through that process.

i am a big fan of motleyfool.com and i have learned a little through them, but i think what i am really interested in would be to buy some stocks and just hold them for a while and watch them, to learn and see if they would increase there value, just kinda making a small investment.
