Repeating my similar question from another thread...

Will the ISAC give me the ability to "flip a switch" and go from 15# boost to 25# boost with a mostly stock engine (Razor's alky kit, fuel pump, hotwire kit, injectors, chip, AFPR, etc.) with stock turbo, downpipe, internal wastegate, etc.?

Ira

Flip a switch, no. Turn a knob, yes.

You can use the trim knob on the front of the unit to control boost, boost ramp rate, AF ratio or alcohol control. You can also load different configs quickly to change boost levels if you wanted to go that route.

I actually just configured one on my desk to see what the range was. With the max PSI set at 24 PSI, I can go anywhere from 24 down to 12 turning the knob.

I'm enjoying the he'll outta this thing. There's nothing else I know of that does what this does, especially for the price. Or otherwise for that matter.

I understand that the ISAC does a lot more than just boost control (most of which I don't understand), but keeping it simple for a novice like me...

How does the ISAC compare to something like the BSTC electronic controller that isn't available new anymore? Assume the BSTC is working with the stock internal wastegate, two stock solenoids, and Casper's solenoid wire splitter (since I've read that is what is required for it to get an adjustability range of over 10#). From what I can tell, the BSTC doesn't have any hose connections like the ISAC has.

What does loading different configurations entail? Does it require a PC or can it be done from the controller's front panel?

I downloaded the manual and will read thru it when I get some free time.

Thanks,
Ira

The ISAC doesnt have a hose connection anymore. The beta units did.. the production units we moved the MAP sensor external since so many people already had them. The BTSC does have a hose connection but the MAP sensor is seperate from the control head.

You can run a dual solenoid setup with the ISAC just like the BSTC. You can control boost based on time, gear or RPM.

If you're running an actuator, you only need one solenoid. The dual solenoid mode is for externals but even those work fine with one solenoid.

As far as loading configs, yes, you need a laptop. However, you can use the trim knob on the front for boost control.

I am so glad you guys that have them are enjoying them. This has been a long road for us and it is great to finally see some in action!

As Stu said it does SOOOO many different things for such a reasonable price...

does the Isac take the place of a PowerLogger (all data viewing and logging) and a PAC?

on one car i have a PL and ALKY system and i am going to add a WB sensor, log Fuel pressure and ALKY pressure.
Can the Isac do this?

How much does the Isac cost?
When buying an Isac What is included?
Where or onto what does the Isac get tied in to the car?

I am building a second car and wouldn't mind having something deferent in it (no point in having two identical set ups)

The ISAC will replace the PAC, but wasn't made to be a datalogger. So it will not replace the logging abilities of the Powerlogger.

The ISAC will log the WB for a short period of time, but will not log Fuel and Alky pressures. It's not a datalogger.

I don't know about the cost anymore. The ISAC just includes the actual ISAC box itself and the wires to connect it to various inputs and the alky pump(s) and boost solenoid(s). As far as how it ties in, I posted some information in a thread called "ISAC Discussion Thread" that explains how I wired it all up.

Hope this helps

I have my ISAC close to my center consle. Using that trim knob on the fly for a 10-12psi gain is way too much fun. If you want to play possum and then pull off the win, no problemo....:D
